Help Me pleeeaseee!!! PLEASSSSEE!!!

2006 325i

I keep hearing the fan purge up and down, sounds almost as if a car was having trouble idling but the RPM isn't moving up and down. The fan just sounds that way!! I don't know what it could be. Should I replace the FAN?!!?! Is there another fix? I heard it could be an FSU? IDK what that is.

Its been doin it for a few weeks, and i didn't think much of it until it overheated on my yesterday. I got the yellow coolant light and then the RED!!

Any input is greatly appreciated please!!! thank you!

Do you just live in a hot place? Maybe the engine is overheating

PNW should be Pacific Northwest. WA state, I would guess. Shouldn't be the outside temp.

Thermostat or waterpump issues? How many miles on the car? The fan issue is pretty strange.

Get it scanned for error codes.

I am 99% certain that it is a failed water pump, hopefully you did not drive too far before shutdown. The fan was trying to compensate, the yellow then red light was the engine overheating. Tow it to a mechanic and read codes to verify, then replace waterpump and thermostat. Flush and refil radiator while you are at it. Think about changing other fluids per mike miller old school maintenance, google it.
