Steering Wheel Wear
What do people do about steering wheels wearing? Trim has peeled which can replace however the leather on the wheel itself has seen better days (car has done 100k).
Any options apart from the obvious of simply replacing it? |

I used this on mine http://www.liquidleather.com/scuffs.htm
worked well, not as new but about as good as it gets without having to buy a new wheel! |

preventitive maintance would have been the best thing you can do. your hands have oils that detereriate the trim and leather over time. at this point unless you wrap it, i believe it will be hard to make it look good again. i would buy a new one and just take good care of it

To do this to every wheel, hence this post and reluctance to drop £5-600 on a new wheel for it to happen again. Wrapping sounds interesting - will look into this. Thanks all. |

Leather trim on the wheel normally peels around the rear of the spokes where it meets the back of the steering boss(where plastic meets leather if you follow me)
Jack at Royal Steering Wheel is a half way house bet does a good job and the wheel is cheaper than any new one plus there's lots of choices re leather |

Me if your a normal driver stick with my recommendation, you'll therefore get no grief plus a 2 year warranty re parts, but if you want more bite perhaps a different set of pads but there are risks attached by going this route |

Ah well.......Brembo blue, red, black calliper covers can be had for around £35.00 on eBay, direct from good ole China, then go down to Halfords with the Astra, Corsa crew init and don't forget your spray for the rear lights
