Where are all the folks from the past 3 years that were balls-to-the-wall continuing to fight for Gavin that it was happening. Several folks from day 1 called this B.S and continued to call the b.s. Really shows you what a cult following effect things like this can have, especially when you want something to be true really badly.
Pretty sad people were still sticking up for Gavin 3 years later. Honestly guys 3 years to get a supercharger to work is not even in the realm of realistic. A year is almost laughable with dedication to the project. Anyway, hopefully now everyone who kept saying Gavin was legit can stepup and admit they were wrong on this thread! |

it seems like youre a little too excited about being right. i wasnt really in the market for a supercharger on my n52, but nobody was harmed by his SC project. So it would not have been profitable, and decided to cut his losses. Nobody likes the guy who runs around saying "i told you so". Just chill man

What I don't understand was the brackets were done, the system was installed in his car for quite awhile now, prob over a year it seems. Gavin said the testing was almost done just some fine tuning. Maybe it had reliably issues with the internals over time? idk. Hey listen, I give the guy credit for trying. Im sure it wasn't easy to even accomplish what he had done so far and putting his car up as the scapegoat. Whatever the reason it would be a shame if people started a whole "told ya so" thread. Just let it RIP.

Not surprised either, MMW is the one and only vendor I've ever had a negative experience with. I basically provided an interest free loan for half a year (can't remember exact length) when I pre-paid for the pre-LCI lip. I even got some lip service *har har so clever* when my refund was delayed for over a week. Never supported him after that experience, and never will.

If you want an aftermarket supercharged car - go out and buy a GM or Ford.
There are at least 5 well respected companies out there that make systems for those cars that are reliable, tested for years, and have DOCUMENTED dyno proven HP/TQ increases. If you want a fast BMW - buy a turbo car to begin with...

I've never had a problem with Gavin. I bought my headers from someone on here and he still answered a couple questions I had, not that it wasn't expected for him to answer them, but he was very friendly about it. And when I bought my CSv2 muffler from him I really didn't have much money to spend so I emailed him asking if he had anything he used during development that he'd sell me for what I had to spend (I don't want to say how much, but it was nowhere near the going price). He came back and said that he didn't have anything like that for the CSv2, but he'd sell me a new one for that price, or he'd sell me a unit that was built completely in house (not a modified OE box) but it would have needed tips welded onto it. At the time I really only had one or two mods on my car and it meant a lot. I've always found him to be very pleasant and personal.
Obviously I can't speak for everyone, because I know plenty of people are, and have been, completely fed up with MMW, but the guy tried to make this supercharger happen, he got it running on his car, but decided not to put it on the market for reasons that I can only assume would leave people's cars broken or just not running properly if he had sold it. Yeah, he had our hopes up, sure. We've got an engine that, with boost, is probably more willing to blow than a cheap hooker in a Motel 6. Want a reliable FI kit with stock internals? Maybe it'll run on hopes and dreams and it's only emissions will be rainbows. |
