Well, I live in Old Town, Alexandria. The closest one is the Ballston Mall, which I refuse to go in to. So for me, from the FF dealer, it's around the corner :-)

vob is pretty shitty. not only do they give me a kia to drive off in, they never fix anything. everything I try to get done there is not covered under warranty. more specifically the broken wood trim. i go to sterlin, and its get replaced, no questions asked.

So, from a show of hands, which dealership has always treated them right in the area?

Passport
Sterling
Arlington
Tischer
Annapolis

I've been to Russel BMW in Baltimore and had to get interior scratches removed after the tech muck it up. Arlington look at a wheel problem and told me my tires are cupped and wheel has a hop in it. Ask them to check the bearing since the right side was replaced by Russel BMW. Arlington never took the wheel off the car to inspect the bearings.

Need a dealer I can really, really, trust to do the job right. Even if I have to drive 75 miles for service.

Going to AtSpeedMotorsports on Friday to get new tires installed, plus new wheel for the one that has a "hop" in it. Will have them give the car a close inspection to see if any BMW techs may have screwed something up. They don't give any discounts but the work is top notch so far. Still need a BMW shop for warranty and scheduled maintenance that I won't worry afterwards about the work done.

Got my car from the first, everything else at the second. I live in Montgomery county so I actually had to search for a fully optioned CPO 335 and Sterling was the only place good enough (with adequate inventory). I figured VOB in Rockville/Bethesday was pretty good (where I got my E46), but I rarely go there anymore. But for service/parts/general, Tischer does everything just fine.
