No Washer Fluid coming out??

I have 2006 325i that I recently purchased. The wipers work fine, no problem with the rain sensor but when I try to use the fluid to wash my windshield, nothing? I know there is fluid in there I can see it. I hear the motor but nothing?? Any suggestions?? thanks for replies in advance.

I see that you live in Austin so this may be a dumb question, but is it below freezing where you park your car at night? My mom's wiper fluid freezes when it dips below 30.

We havent had weather that cold in over a month and it was not for long. I'm totally scratching my head on this one. I may just have to take it all apart and go from there.

Thanks for the reply,

Rick

If it doesn't appear that the pump is leaking, try sticking a needle or some type of pin into the wiper fluid jets. They could just be clogged.

Ya that was the first thing I tried. I was just sent a link to post of the filter get really nasty and needing to get cleaned.

Yeah it might be worth taking it apart and inspecting it. You could try disconnecting the lines from the jets and putting them in a water bottle to see if the problem can isolated to just the jets. If you can hear the pump then I doubt it's bad.

On my VW this happened, the tube had disconnected from the jets under the hood at a junction, and was leaking the fluid down where the rainwater goes, same may have happened to you.

A common problem is that the washer fluid filter gets clogged. This could be the cause of your problem. Check out this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=558259

That's what I thought too. Whatever my mom has in her car was starting to freeze at just below 30 though. It was frozen enough for nothing to come out when she tried to use it.

Whatever it was was kinda blue. She takes her car to a Chrysler dealership for service so maybe they diluted it with a ton of water or something.
