Code 320 (De-Badging at the Factory)

I know "De-Badging" has been discussed before, however I just ordered a 335i Cabrio and asked my Dealer to include "Code 320" (I learned about it here..thank you very much!).

He told me "he never heard about it before" and "he tried to type it in to my Order, but couldn't". (Car ordered from a New York City Dealer).

Any suggestions?

I tried that route with my 325i, I supplied them with the option codes (including the smoker's package delete). CA said BMW NA will not entertain such anomalies, so it was said. The CA offered to have it debadged during PDI though.

Mine did not come with a badge right off the truck, so I don't think they DE-badged it.

I also read someone posting about the factory debadging option. My CA didn't know about it either. One guy said that the debadging is considered a special option and BMW charges something like $400.00 (it was either on E90post or bimmerfest...can't remember). If it's true, the option is obviously not worth it. It can be done pretty easily once you get the car and it will be free.

grab a hair dryer, dental floss, goo gone, and a rag.

heat up the badge for about 5 min, use the dental floss to slide under the numbers, and they pop right out. Then use the goo gone to get the excess goo off your car.

did this to my e92 first day, super easy.

BMW NA does not offer/allow special orders. BMA Canada does allow certain special order items but at a hefty surcharge and yes factory debadge would constitute a special factory order.

if you ask, your CA can probably have detail do that before you take delivery... make sure they don't put the dealer sticker on either if you don't want it... otherwise you'll have to peel it off yourself.

Many thanks all !!! The Dealer just agreed to do it for free..but he still seems "confused" at my request.

Go Figure !
