CP-E downpipe questions

a few questions regarding downpipe install and performance.
Since these don't have the "alignment tabs/brackets" like the factory ones have, how do you tell if your mounting angle is correct so they don't vibrate together causing noise. Seems they can be rotated on the mounting ring (flange) a bit left or right which will change their position slightly.

secondly, does the removal of the factory downpipes create any black soot on the rear bumper? (Had that problem on a catless 3rd gen RX7 and was a bi##h to get off). I will be retaining the secondary cats and currently have the BMW performance exhaust. Any "rotten egg" smell with running downpipes?

thanks

Make sure they are not touching so that they don't rattle.

I dont believe you will have excessive black on the exhaust.

This. I just installed my CP-e downpipes this weekend and need to go in and adjust them. I definitely have an exhaust rattle now. Not really a big deal, but just something that's avoidable.

The cp-e pipes should line up perfectly when installed correctly. Make sure to tighten the 4 lower flange bolts first, then tighten the v-bands by the turbo. This will ensure proper alignment.

As for excess carbon on the exhaust... yes there is much more than stock. I keep a box of shop rags in my trunk and whipe off my tips once a week. When I had stock tips it wasn't as bad, as the inside of my stockers were black and dirty to begin with. I have never had to clean my bumper though.
