going back the the CCA benefits, I joined one year before I bought my 3 to get the benefit of the rebate. (you have to be a member for a year to get the refund). Back then, I had my eyes set on the X5, but the 4.4 I wanted was just too much $$$ for me. Unless I sold one of my kidneys.
Still, I got the rebate when I bought the 3.

If I joined the BMW CCA in December, but ordered my car in October, can I still get a credit after 1 year, or was this something I should have already requested???

you need to have been a member for at least 1 year at time the final papers were signed...you then send them a copy of proof of purchase along with the proper forms and they send you a $500 check after about 4 weeks.

The rebate will marginally help offset some ED/PCD travel expenses....

None that I can see. I sent in my rebate form 6 weeks ago and haven't seen anything. I called BMWNA to verify that they received it and no response. Their new renewal process sucks because you can't renew your associate member, and you're not given credit for referral members.

The magazine is nice, but don't expect it to be anything more than that. If you want to pay $40/yr for a BMW magazine then join.

They also have Driver Education (track events) in case no one else has mentioned it.
I have never done a club sponsored road course track event in your own car, you are missing out.
BMWCCA also has Tech Sessions at local dealerships and service centers where you can borrow a lift and work on your car.

I agree CCA is well worth the money. seems like all the benefits are already given, but I must again remind everyone that your $40/yr fee also gives you access to all the local chapter events.

last weekend's autocross was great (didn't race, but watched for 40mins). another one is coming up next month in Aberdeen (Ripken Stadium). From what I hear, its a longer drive to get there, but well worth it. the track is longer/bigger meaning you can go faster!!!

there's also monthly socials, DIY sessions, and other events (search this board and local chapter website for more detail).

what I never understood about the rebate is why 3 series only get $500? my fully loaded e92 was $50k which is about what you can get a 5 series for and they get $1000 back. I think every model should get $1000 back, except 7 & M cars should get $2000.

BTW - it took my check about 12 weeks!
