///M Steering wheel upgrade complete!

Thanks to the DIY's by Marcus and bavarian19, I was able to complete the swap in about 30 min. The only trouble I had was removing the center hex-bolt as it was screwed on so tight. Other than that, it was much easier than the blackline or the aluminum pedal upgrade.

Here are the list of parts you need to order in order to complete the job.

32-30-7-906-846 WHEEL
32-30-7-906-848 COVER
32-30-6-767-225 SAUCER X2
32-30-6-773-569 BAG
61-31-6-956-562 SWITCH (for non-iDrive cars, look up the www.realoem.com for the proper part number)

Here are some before and after pictures.

BTW, my user ID used to be Bertuzzi but since he was traded for Luongo, I changed my ID.

Very nice. It must have been costly with a new airbag, cover, etc. Luckily us sport packagers only had to get the wheel. It's definitely my favorite mod...the indentations and perforated leather make steering the car a joy.

Last time I checked, sport package was $1600. Of course, the invoice would be slightly less. Believe it or not, some people in the midwest CHOSE to pass up on ZSP since the sport package only comes with summer tires with treads that will wear out in a year.

For the upgrade, I basically spent $500 more than what people with sport package would have spent. Cost of the airbag plus the multifunction buttons.

I've had my tires for a year and over 22k miles so far and they're still fine

it's fine to skip packages if there's something undesireable or that you don't want to pay for in the package... heck I don't have prem pack, but I do have bluetooth

did you not like the SP seats?

SP seats would have been nice, but I have no complaints about the standard leather seats with lumbar support.

I might be mistaken, but I don't think you can just order sport seats without getting the ZSP.

If I were living in California, I would have definately bought the ZSP. But in Chicago suburbs where you sometimes get cought in a snow storm and the snow removal is not very efficient, the ZSP was just not a practical option for me.

Yes, I am too lazy to change my tires twice a year.

Yes they do. As long as you order the appropriate part, it should be just plug and play...
