You will need an inline converter. That should take care of most of what you need.

True but any sub is better than a Ronnald Macdonnalds or what ever he is called!

That's because it's not called an inline converter.

It's a line out converter or LOC for short.

Search the the audio subforum. There are numerous setups posted and detailed guides on how to hook up the LOC to your factory system (there are 3 different types).

An alternative to a LOC is an amp that accpets high level inputs. Basically you take the speaker wires coming from your factory amp/head unit and connect them to the amp. The amp will convert the signal so it is usable (instead of the LOC).

You can also get a harness from technic so you don't have to cut any wires.

OP, basically, PM TECHNIC on here - explain what you have, i.e. professional basic stereo.. and what you're planning to do and he will tell you what you need/what to do. The technic harness (lots of people on here have bought this and used it, including myself) means you get to keep your BMW factory wiring without cutting anything.

Just drop him a PM and he will go through your options :-)

check out pages 2 and 3 on my car domain. i have run 2 systems in my e90 and never used a wiring harness. My current system is running 2 12 w7s on 2000 watts. Simply tapped the factory signal going to the factory subwoofer. check it out!
