Well, it's clutch time. Couldn't believe it, took it for a trip yesterday after sitting for a month or so (working perfectly last time I drove it) and I'm slipping above about half throttle. Made for a pretty boring 300 miles.
Everyone just going back to the OEM "is" clutch? Don't expect to ever do more than 500 hp in the future. |

Looks like it'll run under $400 for parts for the OEM kit. Now just have to decide if I'm going to do it myself or not. Not going to be a ton of fun using jack stands. |

Nope, not at all. The outlet does need to be trimmed depending on what IC you're using though.

Well, I decided to go for it, got the transmission out tonight, waiting for the clutch kit to arrive from ECS (shipped today).
And... since the trans is coming out, may as well put in the BMW SSK and refresh the bushings (shipped today). And... the oil pan gasket is leaking, so need to knock that out (shipped today). And... since I'll be dropping the subframe to do the gasket, it's going to be really easy to install downpipes (shipped today, ARM). And... since its in the air, no excuse not to install the ARM FMIC, M3 front sway bar, and Dinan camber plates I've had sitting around. So, net effect of warn clutch for me will be FBO. Just need to pick up a cheap android tablet for the MHD install. Last edited by GATORB8; 10-02-2017 at 09:25 PM. |

Has anyone noticed a sudden increase in oil consumption? After 30k miles that I've owned the car (60k total), where it would use 1/2 qt. in 10k miles, all of a sudden the car sucked down a qt. in less than 1,000 miles. The current change has less than 7K mikes on it and the CBS sez it ican go another 12K miles to a change. I've never let it go beyond 10K miles and am currently driving like an old lady.
Could it be bad turbo seals? Or, more likely, the PVC valve. Enquiring minds want to know what the collective experiences have been. It seems to me I heard earlier That the turbos were warranted to 110K miles, but haven't seen that in my on-line BMW page. |

Bought a Gem - w/new car smell still included!
Proud to be a 335is owner!
Gentlemen passed away and car sat for a few years being driven very little. Payed 25k for this 2012 manual w/nav. The kicker is it only has 12,500 miles on it!! ![]() I just installed the RB PCV valve and BMS catch can. Previously owned a 335xi that I modded pretty decently, and thought I would do the same with this, but the car is almost perfect stock, so she will stay mostly that way. Excited to be an owner of one of these exclusive cars. Cheers! |

edf8fde's super clean interior post made me want to compare how different the new BMW Performance SSK I installed looked. Shift is significantly shorter.
Here's some pics for anyone interested, BMW Part 25110434219, $65 on ECS. |

Anyone have luck getting their turbos replaced under the 82k 8 year warranty on their iS? I have a 2011 iS and my wastegates are rattling at any point it is on. I have an appointment Monday so I guess if no one knows then I will find out soon enough and let you know. Just wanted to be as prepared as I can to talk to the service rep. I have 64k miles but my CPO warranty is up.

As far as install, the interior stuff is easy, and the only thing you really need to do from the bottom is remove the "circlip" and slide out the shift rod. I think you could do it without removing the exhaust, but it depends on that center heat shield. Including replacing all the bushings, it probably added 30 seconds to the clutch replacement. The clutch doesn't feel all that different. It has an auto adjuster to fix the pedal as it wears. The slip at full throttle is definitely gone though. I would say the only really tough part of the install was reaching the top two trans bolts. |

Another proud owner of a 335IS!! I'm 7 months into my first BMW and a couple of hours into finally joining E90 post. I have to say, although I loved my TL Type-S and still miss it, the 335is is definitely a noteworthy UPGRADE. Here are some pics from when I first got it.
