Unhappy Soft/Sluggish Steering on E90!

Last Sunday I had a very strange experience with my beloved E90-325i. Right after I started the engine and pulled out of my driveway, I noticed that the steering felt a bit off - kind of soft and sluggish. Thinking that I might be not awake enough I continued on along the highway. At higher speeds this issue became more pronounced. I felt like I was driving a Toyota - the crisp and precise steering that our BMWs are so famous for was gone! I got off the highway, shot down the engine - got back into my car after about 1/2 hour and everything was back to normal.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Any idea of what might have caused it?

Cheers
David

So far it happened only once. I definitely believe it was a software glitch. The sreering (tightness) on our cars is a function of speed, and is controlled electronically.

Updates

Got my car back from the dealer last night. The steering feels much stiffer even comparing to its normal operation before the service. Soft steering problem and squeaking noise while making turns (which I also had occasionally) could not be diagnosed since the symptoms weren't there during service (which is ALWAYS the case). I asked them to check for leaks which were not found. One of the things I noticed in their work order is that they reset steering angle sensor and DSC - cleared fault memory. The bottom line is that the car drives tighter than before - pretty much the way it was when we picked it up. I think the steering has an overall tenancy to get softer overtime, and it looks like it can be easily fixed by resetting some sensors and potentially rebooting the system.
I was also blown away by the MP3 capabilities of the CD player. I'm embarrassed to say that I've never used it 4 months of owning the car - I'd be taking advantage of an easy hook up for my iPod via AUX input. Don't know if the software upgrade did it or it has always been there - but I find it amazing that you can scroll through all of the file names on the CD and the way the MP3 tags are being read and displayed (Artist name and album/track name).
