Wow, very nice Scoot.
Like the spec and BMW have done a great job on the SE. In fact, think I could be tempted away from the M Sport as long as I could get one with sport seats like you specced. I do agree, the 2.0d engine is such a good match for the 5er and with the auto very chilled to drive. When I have the kids with me I never go that fast so generally don't miss the 6cyl performance (just the noise and increased vibration niggles me). I take it your also stop/starts now?

Yeah, that looks great, and that interior is gorgeous. Nice little collection of motors .

Looks good Scott, we swapped my old mans 730d sport for an F11 in dark grey with oyster a few weeks back and I have been driving it a fair bit, he hasn't got HUD or VDC on his but I still love it, and think I might get myself one.
The engine just makes sense for that car. The 535d is just too expensive now, I got to £61,000 speccing one with everything I wanted, no everything I classed as essential, it was £65,000 with everything I wanted, which is just barmy. His car is currently averaging 44mpg, he got 47mpg from his last tank and the worst he has seen is 39mpg round town on a new tank, ended at 44mpg again though. He is getting 530-620 miles for a sub £80 fill up, which just can't be knocked. |

I did a near 150 miles round trip today and the car averaged 43.2mpg which was virtually all on b roads. The VDC is very very impressive and seems to be well worth the extra £££ but for some reason I think I would skip HUD and save the cash. This might be down to the fact in the 535d you build speed so fast it's handy seeing the screen in front of you so you can quickly make sure you're not going to lose your license. I hvent yet really tried with the nav so I might change my mind It's such nice place to be in and IMO much better than the E350 CDI I had even though I thought that was a big step up over the E60 5 series. Very happy with it. |

I have to say, I had a look at an E350cdi estate yesterday and I just can't get excited about the interior on them, if they did them with a beige interior I might go for it, but all black puts me off them.
E250cdi is the obviously choice, until you take it out, and then realise the MPG is the same as the 350 and 10mpg less than the 520d. The old man is not too sure about the 520d, he likes it....a lot, but was so used to the refinement of the 730d the 5 feels like a bit of a step back, in both size and with the 4 cyl engine. He is going to try a 530d GT and see how he gets on with that, so I may have his 520d touring off him and sell my E320cdi. Although just seen this, which I think looks great...... |

So he got the following extra...
Heads Up display Individual Audio Dab Panoramic roof Touring VDC and paid £3,600 more, I think he was the one that got the bargain. |

I also got 5 years free servicing or 60000 miles, gap and tyre insurance as well as 18 inch wheels, dual climate control and sun protection glass . I think my price at the time was as good or if not slightly lower then the lowest Internet price showing.
