Bucking issue on highway..

JB4+FBO, completely catless, 93 octane.. 23,000 miles on the car.

On the highway 3rd and 4th gear, during 25%-50% throttle car will start to buck, like its misfiring or like traction control is popping in and out.

Getting no codes.. I can make it happen each and every time..
On map0 it doesnt happen almost at all, but u can feel it ever so slightly, but not as much as when the boost is turned up.

Car is great on WOT, and logs very well. No starting issues or idle issues, car runs 100% great otherwise then this bucking on light throttle on the highway.

Anyone have any ideas?

Have you changed your plugs yet? At that mileage with your mods you probably should get some fresh plugs in. That should be a good starting point.

I had the same problem, no codes hesitation issue. Took it to dealer and they couldnt get a code either but felt the issue. They replaced #5 plug and coil. It seemed ok for 3-4 days then it happened but very very slightly then went away, took it back to dealer couldnt reproduce and I havnt really felt it since about a month now. The only option I was looking into is walnut shell blasting but its expensive....

u using auto clear? if so disable it, get a laptop out and drive around for a while with it, that code should pop up.

going wot in 3rd seems to be the sweet spot for my car to get this misfire codes to come up.

i just floor it in 3rd from 1500rpm. if its not that, than yeah, probably carbon.

I would say my guess is plugs, search up the NGK plugs alot of FBO guys using them and seem to like them..

I was going to change them but after asking a few guys, they are telling me, that without codes and without any WOT issues, that plugs might not be the problem.

I think the dealer changed a injector once... im thinking it might be coded wrong or a coupler is missing...

Nope autoclear is off.. I keep recreating the bucking and both JB4 and BT cable shows no codes..

I just would think that injectors, coils or plugs would somehow throw some codes, or effect WOT, idle or starting issues and car runs great.

I might just get plugs for the hell of it but im scared if the dealer replaced a injector while my car was being repiared for some bodywork, that they either coded them wrong or a coupler missing of some sort..
Im gonna go this week and see if a dealer can show me exactly what was done to the car when the bodyshop brought it in for repair.

I heard there was some buzz going around about "throttle flutter" that might be a flaw in the BMW software when the aftermarket maps are applied. Anyone else hear/read this?

I've been tuned for a long time and never got it unless its something to do with new software...
