That should be on the front page in bold. I saw it worked with w7 and assumed it was x64. Wspent a lot of time trying to get it to work with my w7 x64 laptop. Finally saw someone mention it only working with 32 bit os, dug out my ancient laptop and everything went a lot better.

Nice, thanks for the quick reply...my lappy has 6 gigs ram so I donno if I should partition my drive or just loose the 3 gigs of ram (32 bit only allows 3 gigs max) but you never had any issues with windows 7 32 bit?

Has anyone tried hooking up the recommend cable from page 1 of this thread to a laptop using USB 3.0 and knows it to be working?

Looking to purchase a laptop and the newer models have USB 3.0.The USB3.0 ports are backward compatible with 2.0 device, but I just want to be sure.

Wait, what? Partitioning your hard drive has nothing to do with RAM.... If you have 6GB of RAM and run 32-bit, you'll only get to use up to 4GB (in reality, somewhere between 3.25 and 3.75 for technical reasons), but you don't have remove extra RAM since it'll just go unused -- and you definitely don't have to partition your hard drive, unless of course you want to install 64-bit separately. But honestly if you want 64-bit to take advantage of the extra RAM, I'd just use a 32-bit VM for coding. Much easier than dual booting, especially if that's all you'll use the 32-bit environment for.

gets u one heck of a speed kick

Agree. You can get 32 bit Virtual XP free from Microsoft. I use it for TIS under Win7 64 bit.

Its free but you need to have Professional or Ultimate edition of 64bit to get the Xpmode for free...You can get it working with Home editions 64 bit but it takes alot of coaxing to get it working...Changing the OEMbios and shit

Ha ha I never said "remove" I just didnt wanna loose the ram by downgrading to 32bit.

I just dual booted my lappy and it seems like its working awesome. I havent plugged in to my car...im waiting for a special day that im feeling good.

Do you need to run WIndows XP mode also or is Windows Virtual XP alone enough needed to run TIS in Win 7 64 bit?

Btw, it has been reported that it works in Win 7 64 bit environment. If you right click the application, you can select 'Windows XP SP3' under compatibility mode.

Another coding success.

My cable arrived from one-stop ahead of scheduled and I managed to cobble together enough of INPA, toolset32 and NCSExpert to get started with my 2008 E90.

I have:
  • added digital speedo
  • permitted comfort close from remote
  • stopped IHKA AUTO button from turning on the AC
  • changed my battery to an AGM from a flooded type (updated VO to CAS and FRM, coded CAS with new battery string) - none of the howtos I found seem to cover it all, they do one half but not the other
  • registered the new battery (using Toolset 32)
  • enabled ventilation timers on my URAD2

I am still seeking:
  • any possibility of enabling weather band (no iDrive)
  • tuning the IHKA for more/cooler airflow (INTENSITY) particularly when there's low solar load
  • get DIS or similar fully functional so that I can exercise ABS during fluid flushes, reset all adaptations, DIY the "scheduled maintenance" which is a glorified code read
  • look into module software updates via WinKFP (scary - may not bother)

Not true.

As far as I know TIS has to be installed under SysADM which itself has to be installed under WindowsXP. So I use Windows Virtual PC to run a Windows XP Mode virtual machine under Windows7 Ultimate 64 bit.

Where is this database? I want my 2009 E92 335 with IDrive coded from base stereo to top hifi (planning on feeding a DA2. )

Hi

I have bmw e90 2005(europe) with pre lci halogens and I was going to get oem lci halogen headlights with angel eyes.
I would like to make corner delete mod so there is only angel eyes as a drl and when I use low/higbeam corner lights are also gone.
I called Bmw dealership and asked about that but they have not done that before.
So I would really appreciate it if you could post me some tips so they could do it faster and cheaper.

Thanks for help in advance.
