stock deck subwoofer addition

I'm looking to add either a 10 or a 12 to my car but since I have the stock deck with sub control I'm trying to figure out how I could use the stock deck and sub control to benefit the sub.

When I try to use the sub control now without a sub nothing happens to the bass.

Anyone have any information on how I'd be able to add a sub to the stock deck and any procedures?

I have an 07 328xi

It's pretty simple to add an amp and sub using a technic harness (I have one from my previous 335i and no longer using it)

The harness connects between the factory harness and the factory amplifier and provides you with an LOC for RCA signal as well as remote turn on for the aftermarket amp.

Then you run power from the battery to the amp, and ground to chassis in the trunk and connect the woofer and you're done.

And then I can use the sub control on my deck right? I have an inverter my buddy told me I can draw power m from the rear speakers to power up the amp and sub but I was wondering how I would let bass control work. But I will keep what you posted in mind so I know what to do

I'm not sure about what this bass control is you're talking about.

Bass treble settings? Post a pic

You don't power an amp from your rear speakers, you're tapping into them for audio signal for input to your amp. (This is where the technic harness comes in VERY handy for a plug and play simple clean install) You still need power/ground on battery for an amp.

When you go through the audio controls not the eq settings but another preset there's a sub woofer control you can turn up or down I will post a picture later to show you but I got the harness so that'll help and I can run the power from the battery to the back
