CIC can be script activated now with the exception of the apps. You don't need an emulator.

What do you need one for ?

Is it the bare pcb type or the type with harness attached to it?

There is a guy on another car forum that has managed to change the way the cic inspects and authenticates the fsc's.

Basically, you're now able to install your own root certificate and sign your own fs codes for everything including the BMW apps. The fsc's can be installed normally using FSTOOL.

No doubt some 'vendors' are unhappy about this, but this guy is not interested in making money and would rather share his knowledge.

Go to car technology (one word) dot co dot UK for all the fun.

Emulators are pointless now.
If your headunit is on the latest firmware or if you have the capability available to update it, you can activate the cic within minutes, without needing any emulator.

Updating the firmware involves flashing the headunit which requires specialist equipment (can be done in car or on the bench), there are some sellers on ebay who offer this service. (Eg: Item number 252916085145)

Best luck is that your headunit arrives with the latest firmware already on it, as from thereon not much work is needed. But if not, an alternative is something called script activation, which does not require you to have the latest firmware. (previously this method prevented map updates but now maps can still be updated)

Please take a look at the forum mentioned earlier in this thread, its better you give it a read yourself than me trying to explain it as the detail is very fine and steps should be followed very carefully.
