Unusual brake pad review (EBC Yellow)

I've been using EBC yellows in the front for some time (335is front calipers/rotors) they have awesome bite an modulation on the street and track- and never faded once. The temp range is crazy- from winter to 30 min sessions at the track awesome performance.

I have been running those in conjunction with oem rears. Yesterday I put the EBC Yellows on the rear. WOW after a quick bed in, I'm blown away with the amount of additional brake torque coming from the rear. Can't wait for the track in a couple weeks.

Highly recommended product.

So as I understand it you simply replaced the front pads, not the rotors, with EBC yellow pads and it's a huge improvement?
I'm asking because I also have a 2011 335is and was looking to do the same thing except also replace the front rotors at the same time.

does the is have the aluminum hat two piece rotors? If not, that's not a bad upgrade in stock rotors.

It might work for you on a lighter 330i with less power and if you don't abuse them too much

I had these literally fell apart at the track when I run those last year. Not even my stock pads failed that hard to be honest.

IMO, go with full track pads on our heavy ass cars, these hybrid street/track pads are waste of time and money, especially with stock rotor size.

That said they do bite hard on the street if you don't track and overheat them, but they do get quite noisy after some street miles.

Nope, like I said in my post, up until now I have been running EBC Yellows - which were great, both track and street, with OEM rears. NOW I have the Yellows on the rear of the car and the improvement was dramatic- nearly as much as when I went to the Yellows on the front only- and its notable how much stopping power is coming from the rear, knowing that the front brakes on a car are responsible for like 70% +\- of the work.

That's strage, I have read about issues with the old EBC Yellows, but not the new ones. I'm not exactly a hot shoe at the track, and of course my 330i isn't seeing the speeds of an M3 or 335i, but at the end of the back straight at the Glen, I'm going from 115-120 down to like 65 into the bus stop, and like 110-115 down to like 60 from the front straight into turn 1, lap after lap, with zero issues. Awesome bite, modulation, and consistency throughout the session. If I get to a point when I get moved to the solo group and/or start running r compounds, the need may arise for a bbk. Until then this works. Just like the way the e36 guys get by just fine with track pads and stock single piston oem brakes. My e90 is a couple hundred pounds heavier, but I think that 13.7" fronts and 13.2" rears are sufficient.

It blows that yours fell apart. I wonder if they were old stock when you got them. Damn lucky something bad didn't happen. I hate to think how hairy things could've been for you if they fell apart on the track at the end of a straight.

No noise, and about as dusty as the old style oem bmw pads.
