Green or Brown Plastic "U" Channel ???
Fed up with replacing the wood capping on the top of my fence panels every two years (I blame it on crap water-based treatments, but that is another story).
Thought it would be good to use some 2" x 2" plastic "U" channel, to fit over the capping, would prevent the wood taking the brunt of the rain, and act as a drip edge both sides. However, all I can find is White or Black, would prefer Green or Brown, anyone come across it in these colours ?? (have Google'd it but no results), tried B&Q, Wickes, Do-it-All etc, cannot believe than someone has not come up with a fencing product to do what I want, or maybe they have, but I can't find it. Oil based Creosote Substitute, not an option, too dark, and doesn't work well on top of the existing water-based sh*t. Suggestions please. |

Unsure of how hardwearing it would be....
But could you vynal wrap the white or black stuff if you cant find any? Guess you could get the wrap in any colour?

hi Merlin.
Not sure what you mean by "2x2 U channel". Are you thinking of small plastic guttering mounted upside down along the top of the fence ? In which case Wickes sell "Miniline" in brown @ £3.99 for a 2m length. I used it on my shed, but I'm not going out there now to measure it, but would think it's about the right size to cap the top of a fence ... p.s. keyring still looking good !! |

Matt,
2" x 2" U channel = 50mm x 50mm square (like square guttering downpipe, but with one side missing). Have checked "Miniline", but not suitable, but thanks for the suggestion. Talking of Keyrings, found a couple of Titanium ones, I didn't know I had, so if you know anyone who might like one, give me a shout. Michael. |
