Just ranting here.. BMWNA (the 800 number) has no idea why my car entered the body shop on 9/29 and that is the last update they've received about it. What's the dealio BMW!?!?!?!?!?

Ok.. I feel a little better. I'd feel a lot better if I knew why my car isn't moving along in production. hmmm.. maybe it fell off the line.

haha... dude, your car's probably done. The 800 # tends to be better than the Owner's Circle site, however it won't give you a break down of production, body, paint, etc.

The BEST way to find out exactly what stage it is in is to call the 800 # and talk to "Customer Relations." Give them your prod. # and they can tell you exactly where it is, and you can even use that opportunity to verify everything is correct on your order.

Mine was in the body shop for 3 days straight till I decided to call and ask, then I found out it had completed production already!

I did talk to a customer relations person. And every time I talk to one of them they tell me the same thing. That they have not received any updates since 9/29 for my production number and that my car is still in the body shop. It's just frustrating that I don't know if they do not have up to date information or if my car really is stuck in the body shop for some unknown reason.

Just got off the phone with a customer relations person. Car is STILL in the body shop. This makes 4 working days now in the body shop.

Its almost Octoberfest so that must be the hold up. Just kidding...at least yours in production. I haven't even hit that stage yet.

To be honest I might actually prefer to be scheduled for production and waiting then in production and sitting in the body shop for 4 days doing nothing. I know they work 24/5 over there and the average time in body shop is 8 hours according to the Munich plant tour so 96 hours in one stage is awefully weird.

Hopefully it moves along today.

Dealer says I should be taking delivery at the end of November. I am on the west coast. Dealer is in Portland, Oregon. The "scheduled" end of production is October 8 which oddly is a Sunday and I'm told that the Munich plant doesn't work on the weekends.

I have a feeling you will get the car sooner then end of Nov. I ordered on 9/22 and my supposed delivery date is mid nov.

Presamat, I'd be stoked if I got it in mid Nov but I'm on the west coast so I have an extra 1.5 weeks or so to transit the PC. VPC is in so cal which means another 1200 miles or so up to my location by truck.

On another note, I did call the 800 number and the peeps there say my car entered assembly today.

Anyone know how long assembly takes? I know I'm too late to make the Tristan which leaves tomorrow so it looks like it will probably be the Bellona on the 14th for me.

I placed my order with the dealer on 9/23 however it didn't get into the system until 9/25. Production started on 9/27. The dealer is not a very high volume dealer so they had 2 empty slots for the end of September. I think I got in just in time for them to modify one of their slots.

I ordered on 9/29 with a week 41 production date for a houston dealership which is anywhere from this friday but guarenteed sometime next week...I am told I will get it from early to mid november, sound right in conjuction with teh production date?

I'd say mid November for you if your production finishes at the end of next week. That's my best guess.

As for me, I found out this morning that I'm enroute to the port!!!! There is a ship leaving today but I'm pretty positive I won't be on it. Next one looks to be leaving on the 8th but I think it's a roro and I'm not sure if we ride across on them or not (they can carry cars AFAIK). After that it's the 16th. So I'm looking at middle of Nov to end of Nov depending on which boat I get on.
