Note that it doesn't affect engine or transmission behavior, just the tach doing its own thing to let me know I'm in manual mode (as if the M1-M6 weren't enough haha) |

They are very fast. The biggest difference is not just how fast the gear changes (which is noticeably quicker) but in how fast it actually puts 100% of the power through the transmission to the ground. There's no hesitation or anything, it just feels instantaneous (like a DCT or a manual). Downshifting is incredible now too, there's no hint of the old lurch forward I used to get from downshifting. That's actually been bad for my mpg as I find myself downshifting when I don't need to cause its just that fun

Negative. Tried re-flashing, tried resetting a module back to default and systematically took out P3 vent gauge, SMG shifter kit, and JB4. Seems like it insists on sticking around. If any other n55s want to do this and let me know if they see the same behavior we can figure out whether its all n55s or just my car, and that would be beneficial. You can always flash back to OEM after.
Any takers? Need some data! |

I am interested and located in DC suburbs. Where are you located? I have the ppk which I don't use due to jb4. If I wanted to reflash back to stock what will happen to my ppk? Any other down falls on flashing back to stock? Can you go to dealer with the flash on?

As for going to the dealer with the flash on, that's your call. They'd have to scan the TCU for error codes and they'd notice a 511B error code which is called out in a SIB, but its a shadow code and ONLY located on the TCU. Either that or they'd have to pay attention to the "D" on the dash to notice it changed to D1-D6 and know what it means, but I believe that's how they used to display on older cars. Could be wrong though. |

just had this done - thanks to e90TiAg335i! He came over and flashed my TCU in my garage - unfortunately, I had to get on a meeting at 2:30 so I couldn't do a full test drive - BUT - the very short test drive showed an improvement and NO wacky tach in manual mode AND paddles work.
The DS mode is now S1, S2, S3 etc. Very cool, and quicker shifts. The Manual Mode is the same, but quicker shifts. I'll try to throw a gopro vid up showing this - but - if ur in the north florida area - ping e90TiAg335i so he can hook you up!

Mine are kinda useless since the tach jumps to zero every downshift... but once I get that fixed I'll post some up. I have an idea of what to try next to fix my tach, but since this seems unique to me it appears we have confirmation that this flash is indeed fully compatible with our e9x n55 6ATs
