^^ Wondering whether or not I've done the right thing by sound deadening the expsosed metal panels is the least of my worries right now I know I've done the right thing by getting the installer to do so.

My worry is that Bluetooth no longer works and I now get the SOS warning light (amber colour) on the speedometer as well as the OBC everytime I start the car!

I've read many threads since this seems to be a recurring problem amongst many and consistently, I've read it's probably the TCU which is soon to be malfunctioning!

My installer shas said today there shouldn't be any lose connections since they went over it throughly so I'm wondering if there's any point in my ripping out the centre dash to get behind the OE HU and seeing of the Green Fibre Optic cable was transferred from the OE harness to Technic Harness (see my build thread for the pic pointed out by Mistryn).

I'm really not sure

Ohh i get it now. I got quite a bit of vibration before, sounded like the wooden parcel shelf. So for this install i'll try deadening the metal one as its easier, and see what happens. Hopefully there won't be any rattle.

Awbimmer: It's definitely a good idea to rip out the HU to check that the green cable is in the right black connector. Also check under the glovebox as mistryn has said.

Its quite likely that these two issues have caused your problems in my opinion.

Hey Mo,
Ok will give tha t anosh when I get a chance to do so.
What if hypothetically speaking, these two factors aren't the issues? Then..?

To protect the gearbox in standard tune both first and second gear won't give full power on all 35d cars. There is a reason that their is not a manual option. Clutches can't handle the Lbs/ft. With a chip 3rd gear will also need the same tweaking made. Economy may well not be worse and could be better depending on how lead foot you are.

To give you an idea of 700nm this is more than most if not all 18 wheeler articulated lorries produce. My friend recently bought a 14 ton truck which has 180bhp and 315nm so the figues this engine produces is in biblical proportions.

The former BMW Car Club chairman chipped both of his 335d's by DMS. Economy went from 36mpg - 39mpg first car (non efficiency dynamics) and second car went from 38 - 42mpg average (Efficiency dynamics model) this was over the lifetime of his ownership. He now drives a 640d.

Wow i didn't know that even on stock the 1st/2nd gears weren't full power. It still goes like crazy. Re the economy, I think i have a heavy foot so will probably not improve it, well non-motorway driving certainly

I can't even begin to imagine what 700nm will feel like! With a remap, will the first 2 gears still have the same lbs/ft limit, or will this increase?

I think where i'll gain on mpg is the motorway, its boring so i just put it on cruise and sit back

I dream for our government to make our roads like they do in Germany.

Sorry mate, I did not know that you had more worries.

Sam, 80% chances are that your installer hasn't moved the most fiber loop to technics harness. (as suggested by mob and mistryn).

If not, check under the glove box to make sure that connection is in its place.

If both of them are there, then check all the connections of TCU box and if that are safe / correct then check all the most fibers connections in the loop at the top of NSR wheel arch.

And update the outcome on your thread, so we can follow it.

I've just come back from a mad DS drive Really need to get rid of these runflats, scary!!

First time the coolant temp has reached 98c. I think it was a dpf regen as it went down to 87c. It's actually going up as i type to 95c now (parked on my drive). Still planning to change the egr stat as i think it takes more time than it should to reach operating temp.

Little update,

I started to wrap my interior trim in gloss black today. I only did one panel, the dash one. It was my first time wrapping and i think i did a good job, although its not 100% perfect. But the imperfections are really minor and not noticeable.

Chuffed with how its come out. In the next few days i'm planning to do the little trim on the right side of the wheel, door trims, the front centre console and the rear console.

Cheers pal!

I went for the HX2000 series from Hexis after reading a thread about it. I know 3M are the main players but this seemed like a really nice finish and also cheaper! 500mm x 1520mm £15 shipped! http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/vie...d=140903707982

Going to try and do some more today. However i fell on the wrap yesterday and introduced a small ish crease LOL. I'm sure i'll have to order more anyway for the whole job.

Ah thats a relief. I haven't done anything today, just had a massive headache all day I'll be extra careful with the ashtray though.
