First off, the car is in km, not miles.
2007 335i sedan.
Built date sept 2006.

Changes oil in jan 2013.
Used Castrol European 0-w30.
Reset oil minder.
Did cool and spark plugs also along with Both vanos Solenoids.
All by my self.... I like tinkering.

Now July don't know exactly how many km I put on since oil change.
Car asked for oil in iDrive today.
It was at MIN mark....hmmmm
after adding 1 liter.
Read oil again....
It reached half way only.

Car was backed into my garage, which is in a slight downgrade.

Should I put another liter in?
Also when I reset the oil minder in Jan, it stated 24k km.
Now it says 15k km to service oil.
So in 9000 approx km or 6000 miles approx, it burned a liter or more.... Wtf.

What do you guys think?

No white smoke, no turbo leaking smoke.
Turbos are original.
Fuel pump changed in March 2010.

oil filter housing gasket may be leaking, it is common.

Check multiple times before you believe the reading.
On separate drives.
Also did you check the oil after the change.
How many quarts did you put in?
The one good thing about the oil Sensor is you can check
the level while driving. The results can vary from day to day
and with temperature. And could vary with the tilt of the car.

Have you seen any evidence if leaking? If it isn't burning, it has to be going somewhere.

Make sure the car is level and not moving when checking the oil readout. Also adding 1 liter is not uncommon. N54's take up about 7 liters of oil. Obviously don't pour 7 in. I pour about half a liter at a time, and check the reading after a drive as you don't want to over pour. Adding a liter or two or three in between oil changes for this car can be standard. Keep an eye out if you are burning more oil than usual but it is good practice to check your oil level every now and then instead of waiting for the computer to tell you that you are low.

Ok, when I did the oil change, i put in exactly 6.5 liters.
I did on multiply occasion check the level as 100% after the oil change.

Oil filter housing, from looking at it and inspecting around it, no leaks.
No leaks or drips or wetness under the car.

So, just want to hear it.
If the n54 burns oil at a rate of approx 1 litre per every 8000km.
Is that normal.

Ps: I am a daddy driver, not a grandma driver.
I speed like once every 3rd day or so, but not WOT.
WOT is like once in 2 to 3 months.

Just an average faster than normal driver. But if I get pissed off, I just put my foot down.

It's either burning or leaking. Check for leaks. Like others said, probably the oil filter housing gasket.

Cant see a leak in mine.

But an update, checked oil again and now it reads full.

That sensor reading makes gives you a warm feeling.
Like you peed in your pants.
My Indy lists that they put in 7.5 quarts.
I hate that senor I wouldn't mind if it had a dipstick to .

The oil check sensor isn't always accurate. Never put more than 7 quarts of oil in the n54. Play it safe with 6.5 quarts.

I am going to record the odo to see how long a quart goes empty.

How many miles is average for these engines to burn oil? Like a liter in how many miles.

In the US I believe 1qt/1k miles is deemed okay but I think it's your sensor. Do short trip the car? If so, condensation may cause the sensor to give false readings. A good long hot drive will burn off any condensation.
