oil for top-up not free?

dealer said the oil for scheduled oil change is, but not the oil for top-up since they only get paid by BMW Canada for oil change, but not topping-up...

can anyone confirm this?

BMW Toronto (downtown) topped up for free - just drive in, top up, drive out.

I didn't even have to do any paperwork, and they knew I purchased from Budd's too.

Can't beat the corporate stores for that sort of thing...

yea all you do is go in saying that you checked the level it it seems to be running a little low. you can call ahead and ask them what happens if you are running on low oil...they'll just tell you to bring it in and top up

I don't think its officially part of the maintenance program but my dealer AutoWest BMW does the first top up for free.

Thats true, you could always keep a little bottle in your trunk just in-case you need to top up.
I normally keep a bottle of windshield fluid in my trunk during the winters.
