What costs does BMW cover if I do the Performance Delivery?
What costs does BMW cover if I do the Performance Delivery? I am trying to find out my total savings (if any) when using this option.
Airfare discount and does a companion fly free? Hotel costs (if so, how many nights)? Destination fee still $695? Savings on MACO fees? Anything else I'm forgetting? I realize I might find these answers scatter around, but others are probably wondering the same thing. There is a lot of ED info, but not as much for PD. I'm interested in it mainly so I can negotiate with any dealer in the country and have it delivered in SC and drive it back. I live in Arlington, TX and I am having a hard time getting more than $1500 off of MSRP on a 330 (which equates to around $2100 or so over invoice ). Thanks!!! |

1) No. If you do Euro Delivery, Lufthansa has that companion fly free thing understanding with BMW
2) Free night at the Marriott including full Dinner and light b'fast. You also get airport transfers and shuttle ride to the PC. 3) Its still $695 4) No savings on MACO 5) Full details are on the bmw website or an adequate search here. There are also numerous personal accounts/writeups to give you a better picture of PCD. e90poster BMWExecutive just completed a PCD so you might want to ask him for specific q's. He also has a nice writeup somewhere here. Another good link is http://blien-pcd.blogspot.com A good dealer I might recommend for easy $500 ($200 ad fees, $100 processing fee + TTL...no MACO) over invoice deals is Passport BMW in MD. Do a search, there are a number of happy Passporters here including myself.

In a nutshell, BMWNA uses the $695 destination fee to cover one night in a hotel (Marriott) plus dinner, then breakfast and lunch on the day of the delivery. It also covers the events during delivery day such as the driving school, museum and factory tour. BMW does not provide any airfare discounts that I am aware of. PCD has no affect on dealer pricing at all. The dealer will set it up for you, but there is little savings for him other than not having to prep and deliver the car himself. I doubt that you could use PCD as a negotiating tool since it is the same for all dealers.
I am doing PCD in June and every comment that I have read here and on other boards say it is awesome and well worth it. Hopefully that helps. Good luck.
