Winter tire question

I have the xi sport package 225 fronts and 255 rears.
Just bought winter tire and rims from tirerack all 225's.
is there anything special I need to get for the rears?? Or can I just put them on with no problems?

really appreciate the help. thx

If the your winter tires are directional make sure you put the 2 right tires on the right side of the car and the 2 left tires on the left side. Learn from my mistake!

In other words, for directional tires, the V shape on the tread should be facing up when you stand behind the tire. I went from different size tires in the front and back to the same size ones all around for the winter and everything is fine.

The rears should mount just fine; however, visually you may find them to be more "tucked in" under the car compared to your summer setup. If this is what you're concerned about, you can install spacers at the rear but there are pro's and con's to doing that.

I know that for BMW 162 wheels, the rear wheels are offset differently (given that they're wider) and hence they fill the rear wheel wells great.

how about for XI all wheel drive? Does switching from 255's to 225's make a difference?
