I give her the d and she makes me a sandwich afterwards. Gifts are silly every year when you have birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas etc. Give her a shaved d this year, that should surprise her.

No pic, no care.

I'm debating if I want to go to my holiday party next Thursday night. It's supposed to be a 1920's theme and I have two suits that'll blend in so all I need is a top hat.

Back on topic, my wife and I haven't gotten gifts for each other since we first started going out way back in 2004 as we buy/do things for each other year round. Christmas is about the kids and for those that don't have kids, lucky you

Jewelry. I agree. Maybe a pearl necklace.

Clearly her next gift should be an Uber gift card.

There's not really anything she could even get me that I wouldn't just go get myself unless it's crazy expensive.....
I agree with mrduder. I'm not sure what kind of person your GF is (materialistic, doesn't care, etc.) but it seems like you outdo yourself for the holidays. Perhaps something simple or small (thoughtful, showing that you pay attention to the things many consider insignificant) combined with a nice weekend outing/road trip could suffice.

Then again, I'm not sure how regularly you all go on vacation and stuff like that. I'm not a frequent traveler, so I never faced that problem in my relationships. Either way, best of luck to you! Xmas is about the thought and the attention to detail. It shouldn't need to be a surprise to be special.

Get her nothing.

Bitches go crazy over nothing.

To seriously answer your question, what's she like? She likes to run? Get her running gear. She likes to bake? Get her some nice baking supplies. She likes to eat out? Take her out on a really nice dinner. Likes to read? Buy her some good books that fall in her favorite genre. Or just take a quick weekend trip somewhere fun.

Since you've been dating for 15 years, I take it you know enough about her hobbies and interests.

2 pages, and still no mention of

GOATS!!!!!! Get her goats (or cows, or ducks or fish or any number of animals) from the many online services that give these things to other less fortunate people. I always use Heifer, and then there is the one that Lups and bimmette organized last year.

I admit I've had a girlfriend but seriously, I broke up with her since
.. Shopping for a woman sucks.

Last year we did an awesome job with goats, thanks to tara. This year we should sponsor a shelter? For sure there must be other Bmw owners than I who knows homeless people and the look on the M6 drivers gf's face should be telling enough weather to continue the relationship or not to...

I truly hope we do a better job at marketing this time around. The interest was high last time around because tara came up with a good topic.

Anyway, I'm in!

portable boxes aren't as cute as goats though. If I can get a link to the details, the local LA CBS news ran something on boxes for the homeless just recently.

I bet none of the needy saw any of the goats, most of the Africsn charitable organizations are scams.

I used to find them jobs and sponsors. I'm not sure how a box actually helps. Share a link to the story please.

Yeah, I organized the whole scam, used tara as a front and I spent the money on orchid feed! Sucks to be everyone else but you who fell for it!! Especially the ones out there who think Africa is the only place in the world needing support.

If you're truly interested, I'll be more than happy to show you what the campaign did, and what other people from here did for the campaign even after Christmas.

I agree. We don't buy gifts but at times we do something nice for the other. My husband donates 6.3% of his after taxes earnings to children in third world countries, and sharpens all my cooking knives monthly.

I'm not as good, so I try to waste as little of his time as possible in things he doesn't give a shit in and I try not to steal all his tax returns.

If we buy gifts, they are needed. I got an epic knife set a while back and he is set for socks for the next 700 years. He spent 30 hours in the woods looking for my idiot dog because he knew I wanted it back, called in favors to get police dogs to search for the idiot and so on. Now all our kids have been puking for 6days and I'm handling it.

Gifts in a serious relationship are different. None of us are in the need of carats instead of the support.
