Boost reads -6psi at WOT? WTF
Guys at idle Cobb boost reads -12psi (engine is pulling a vacuum)
Under 4-5k rpm I get a reading of -6.1psi. The car is pulling fine and feels like a lot more than +6psi of boost. What is the deal? Is it likely that my TMAP sensor is dead? Can I save it by cleaning it? I don't think I have a leak since I am not getting codes for that. I think the 2nd MAP sensor (at the intake manifold) is making the car derivable. Tomorrow I will test my theory and pick up a TMAP at the dealer. Let me know what you think. Last edited by hifidawg09; 04-01-2016 at 08:02 PM.. |

Mine did the same in Torque, but I thought that was just Torque's problem. I have yet to purchase the logging module of MHD, when I do I'm going to try that to see what's up. Car pulls great tho, no complaints at all.

Same here, Torque shows -6psi at idle on my friend's '08, e92.
But on my '11 N55, e90 the boost reading is accurate

So could this be a COBB issue and the TMAP is fine?

Not if you read all 4 posts: 1 COBB, 1 MHD & 1 stock

So it looks like I am not the only one with getting an error reading boost. If the TMAP was bad I think that my car would throw codes and not run. I can try to re-flash back to stock and then put Cobb back on. I really do not want to buy a new TMAP just to find out that that it was fine in the first place.

Good point Mike. So what's the deal with the Cobb boost parameter measurement? Not sure what the issue is other than the Access Port not reading/computing the value correctly. How can I be making -6PSI when the car going like a raped ape
I am trying INPA today. But I am not sure I can read the MAP/TMAP sensors directly with INPA. Also sucks that all the labels are in German. Half the time I am guessing what the F I am looking at. |

I don't think so. But even if I did the boost reading would not be screwed up this much.
I am calling Cobb today to see if they can shed some light on this. Holding off on ordering a TMAP. |

Cobb thinks its a AP firmware bug. They claim they never seen it before.
Looks like my N54 is just a bit special. Will update once they release a patch. Not sure if they ever will but here is to hoping. |
