Just renewed 335i warranty...
Went for the comprehensive no excess cover with insured emergency service.
Hoping I get some value out of it for the £520 paid. I've consoled myself with the fact that it should A. Make the car easier to sell privately B. It'll give peace of mind over the common E90 niggles. Anyone being brave and running without one?!! Other than the HPFP going last year it has been a brilliant car, I'd hate to get a big bill and it to ruin ownership. |

I'm running my 335i without any warranty and have had no issues whatsoever with the car as yet but always keep a small pot to one side incase of any future problems.
Besides i have a fantastic indy mate who can sort any issues for a fraction of dealer prices

Year 4 passed without incident on my 335i. You never know though...

Yes.
But I can fix most things myself.

Don't get me wrong I'm not bad with a spanner too but it's the lack of time and the typical problems with these cars that worry me i.e. HPFP, coilpacks, injectors etc
Respect to you guys though! |

Yep, I've been out of BMW warranty for 20 months now. There are times when I feel nervous, but I look at it like this - a warranty like that Quentin Willson one is £50 per month, so that's £1000 I now have.
I know the BMW one is cheaper, but (please correct me if I'm wrong) don't you have to have it serviced by BMW, and you can't have "unofficial" mods, correct? Part of the appeal of this car is that I've had it modded (Birds, Evolve). Also the car's only done 25k (it is a September 2006 vintage), so I'm hoping that is in my favour. I don't plan on putting lots of miles on it. Oh, and yes, it is a brilliant car! Mike. |

Not the same engine, but my E90 330d needed a new fly-wheel, clutch & gearbox (all at the same time) all sorted under warranty. That bill would have been £5,000 - all sorted under warranty. The car was 3.5 years old with 40,000 on the clock - I'll never be without warranty...

My 335i had new coil packs plugs and a few sensors and it had only done 11k at the time. There is no way I'd go without warranty on the N54
