turbo upgrade????

I havent heard of anyone expect my friend to have a turbo update 335xi. He had awd turbos and wasnt happy with the power, he said the tranny slipped alot. This is his dyno, wanted to see if anyone had Rob Beck turbos on a XI.

I'm sure it would be fine to run if you were not doing runs from a dead stop. Rolling starts would be fine.

Our transfer cases probably would hate 500hp launches.

i think its more about the torque. i think that the single turbo from Vishnu is going to be better for the XI even though it has more hp it will take the turbo longer to spool.

i dont know why u feel that way? i see your point if you were doing some 30psi 600hp setup, but the RBs are only going to give about 50hp over stock setup. So your looking at roughly 320-340 range? Dont get me wrong you can modify and tune for other Hp goals but even then i have yet to see any 335's with 500hp/600hp (maybe 2 or3). So just think about the situation. Ive already purchased them i never ragg my car so im not worried one bit i cant wait..and they're close to being undetectable/warranty......

Intake,fmic,exhast,COBB..i havent installed the boltons im waiting for the rb's but the cobb stage 1 did a decent job with the facotry setup it just turned up the boost.

14.5 lbs of boost and i love it definitely more power. They take about 1/2 - 1 RPM # longer to spool but the power carries throughout the whole gear you approach 120mph very swiftly. I cant say i approve of the hefty price tag(no offense RB) but i guess thats just the nature of our models everything is high priced, all in all i paid the full price for these and don't regret them one freaking bit ...and if need be they can be installed right in your very own home using the same wright-up/ method as our DP removal/installation..
I have an A/T xi coupe hopefully this help our AWD community

You ought to put meth into your set up... Or at least e85... Limiting your RBs to pump gas definitely makes them a waste of money for you

Sup fellas im back with a lil rapport. The RB's have been working wonderfully however i have had issues with minor codes and the fked up fuel system of these cars (had to replace and code injectors /fuel pumps etc..no biggie).

Anywho these RB's dont hit full boost at 2500 like the factory snails and there isnt a mind blowing ultrasonic difference like the single upgrades BUT bottom line the RB's do produce real hp and are proven. I dont have numbers or times but ive seen hp ranges from 440 FBO -540 hp with FBO/meth/hi octane & RB's. For those of you riding the fence about purchasing these pupps all i can say is go for it If ofcourse your seeking a more powerfull topend mind blowing torque and bragging rights. ..

ongoing:
- I do not regret buying the RB's one bit they out perform the oem snails by far and they have added much more pride to me and my xi ,around 3k+ miles later and a staggered stance i've had no issues with my a/t.

--My racing story contributions to this thread:
- with oem snails and cobb acces port on 18psi i couldnt keep up with g8's,modified gaymaros and challenger SRT8's. Even from a dig by the time we hit 95mph the big v8's would zip right on by.

- since then i have switched to jb4 G5 ISO/ RB's/ FBO @ 13psi
and these cars seem as if theyre standing still no matter what mph we take off from. Third gear for our vehicles is fk'ing amazing. Best part of the story is after months of waiting for the finished product it feels really good to see my hard earned money pay off!Beilieve me its not just hype! Sad thing is i still havent seen psi#'s higher than 13 and havent used my meth kit?? ..P.S. i also installed the Rb's in my garage using nothing more than the required sockets and a couple of jack stands!!!( all racing was done on private roads and public tracks for legal purposes )

Nice, any problems with the T-case? with launching? honestly im on the fence but im waiting for vargas...

None on my end but i also treat my car pretty good i try my hardest to limit my launching fetish? My car is truly a beast i fixed a vacume leak problem then finally went with map 5 on the G5 ISO. All i can say is OMG!!
