Don't get too crazy on the road today.
Just a reminder for anyone who has stock RFT's. I drove to the airport today early in the morning....let me tell you it wasn't pleasent almost skidding out on the highway going 40mph while fwd and awd cars were doing 70. Damn RFT's i think they should at least made them more suitable for all weather since they're stock. :

You'll pretty much have the same issue with any summer tire. One day I thought that I could drive 5mins to the LIRR station from my house in my summer RFT's through only a 1/4" of snow. My car almost ended up taking out an electrical pole when trying to stop while only going ~10mph. Thank god nothing happened and I learned my lesson. They are not meant to drive on ANY snow whatsoever.
If you want a good cross between performance and snow, get the Michelin Pilot Sport AS. I have them on my E46 330i and that car drives pretty effortlessly through the snow. Traction during the warmer months is great as well.

It's days like today that make me glad I got an xi. Drove this morning , no problem. Pushed it a little harder that I probably should but it handled nicely.

Echoing the above - you are most likely driving on summer tires. All season RFT's are really not bad - nor are Winter RFT's. Seriously you need to change those tires or you're doomed.

The all-season RFTs are great. I was out in my neighborhood driving and there was a slick patch ahead with no cars around, so I decided to slam on the brakes while going 20 mph to see what would happen. And the car handled perfectly, I could feel the DTC/DSC working and the car stayed straight and broke pretty well.
Btw, if you don't know, I don't have the ZSP. Be safe driving out there.

drove from LI to brooklyn today with my xi and 17" all season rft's. it was definately better than my old fwd cars but it wasnt as great as i was expecting. I think i may invest in some snow tires to get ready for the larger snow storms
