does anyone know either of the following?

- how to disable headlight washers (maybe remove the option from the VO?)
- if it's possible to have the REST function (ie the one that circulates warm air) come on automatically when key removed?

Quick question.

What speed is accurate? The digital speed on the dash or the dial? Mine is about 3-6 mph off depending on what speed I'm traveling.

Just curious.

Digital Speed should be accurate - the analog needle gauge is known to be off a little. In my case it shows 3-5mph faster than I'm actually going (which is a good thing cause it prolly saved me some tickets going thru those local 'timed' traps where they allow 5mph over without ticket...

Sweet. Because since I coded it I've been setting my cruise with the digital and been noticing that the "Cruise" speed is different

Is mirror glass blue tinted or looks normal?

Blue tinted does not autodim...

Neither is accurate. My analog is off by 6% and digital is about 5%. I just know already when i set my cruise control what I can set it at and be legal.

Coding rocks! The best way for the corner delete on my preLCI 08 335.

Read instructions which are super super if you ignore typos.
Downloaded software and newest NCSExpert software separately.
Bought eBay cable - excellent build and no probs. Comes with USB drivers to fake a serial COM port. Works perfect on win7.
Latest NCS software did not have a .man file or .ini files. Had to make a eidabas.ini file with just one line and a obi.ini file that I copied from another post.
When in doubt reboot.
INPA had error with airbag query. But just ignored. Assumed it was working.
NCSExpert worked fine after I made an empty .man file.
Quickly coded 1) corner delete, 2) folding mirror, 3) dig speedo, 4) close windows with fob, and 5) unlock with engine off.
Dig speedo caused clock to reset. Scary but service indicators all ok

Getting the computer set up is a pain. Once working coding is cake. So cool!!,

Thank you everyone!!,!
Anyone in NoCal need help, ask me!

I just received the cable from ebay that is suggested on first page.
plugged it in, only lights up for a while then goes off.
also, my ignition and battery both show as off even though my car is on and everything is plugged.

EDIT: fixed. the cable when plugged in was com7. i changed to com1 and it worked.
now to get coding!

After I did digital speedo chimes went off and time reset. Make sure you are setting the right flag. Several things look alike. Also digital speedo is in KOMBI and not CAS as in the tutorial.

The one the cable's seller directed me to. It's fairly generic. Win7 can also load it's own drivers if u are lucky.

Oh yeah. Must do this!!!

The fact it looks for COM1 and all program files are in C:// is very reminiscent of programs for i386 computers pre-USB and running Windows 3.0. Ah the good old days...

I don't know about the other modules... but I found when coding the CIC that I could keep the engine running (this is the module I want to explore in a lot more detail ). I wouldn't be so ballsy with coding the KOMBI or CAS though.

Can a Ross-Tech VAG-Com cable be used for this coding? I have a recent version the CAN communication (may code recent models such as R8's), but sold my Audi. Or will I have to order one of the cables mentioned in this thread?
