I chose Quaife because they know what they are doing. There is no secret they have been building bullet proof LSDs for years. They reputation is second to none. They are quiet, they retain the scrolled input shaft, and they stand behind their product. Quaife is the best for a reason in my opinion.

Quaife and wavetrac are both torque biasing LSDs, not lockers.

My fake ediff does just fine. If I drag I leave two strips, If I slide around a turn, both tires are smoking. I drove my buddies 335i, and for some reason his car sucks, its an 07 so maybe it didnt have an ediff.
Here is a nice example of someone who could drive with a bone stock 135i. As you can see the outside tire is spinning hard. |

Agreed, I start buying into needing an lsd, but when throwing the backend out and straight starts, i swear both are turning.

Suppose to? No. Do they? Yes. The only LSDs that the clicking would be minimal is in clutch-type differentials but you then have the clutch plate wear to worry about.

This business of which cars have/don't have an e-diff is adding an interesting twist.
My car is an AT built 10/06. With "sport" package. Who has some facts on when/if e-diff is built into the car. |

E-diff does not exist, it is just a sw in ABS/DSC module telling the car to apply brakes to stop the spinning wheel... as long you have a DTC button on your dash, you are in the e-game...
Once you have a real LSD (M-models only + after-market of course), you can gas-steer your drive :-)
