so dealer threw away my K&N (not cool)- but not sure I'm going to replace it

so title pretty much sums it up....I'll call them on Monday and give them an ear full but nonetheless not sure I'm going to bother replacing it - nothing against K&N just not sure I'm going to bother - JBD does just fine and with all things considered I'm not sure that the K&N has any material impact on performance / ive read all the K&N threads (good and bad) so not looking to start a debate - just sharing my thoughts

Hmm why would anybody dye the filter purple *tosses in the trash*

Odd, but I would call too. If anything just to let the manager know that the service techs should let the owners know they're trashing their aftermarket products!

That is rude, but those wet oiled filters are only good for...nothing.

They did you a favor. The oil in the K&N tends to contaminate the mass flow meter (and that's pretty expensive). But they should have taken it off and given it back to you.

very true kbsilver i had an 02 mcs and had an oiled filter and damaged y MAS flow sensor which voided the warranty luckily my Mini Mechanic was a Puerto Rican Homeboy otherwise I would of beeing SOL!!
