Way too early for me on a weekend.
I'll probably be in late afternoon. |

hi guys its chris from Advan,
The night before the dyno day is here, the work shop is full of interesting cars and projects, from Peters famed GRACER 500+kw GTR, drawn05 135i getting a M3 rear end conversion and suspension upgrades, Rays e46 M3 getting the boot floor repaired after pulling the entire floor out of the chassis this is a must see for all e46 owners, Justins 135i is up on the hoist with the rear end suspension mods 99% complete now just waiting on me to get into the single turbo manifold and fabrication side of the biuld up, theres a Jza80 2JZGTE supra getting a top end freshen up for its new owner after torching the head gasket a week into ownership, Black R33 GTR biuld up sporting built Rb 26/30 motor and twin high mount TD06 turbos owner looking at power levels of 900hp for the street, many high end/top dollar engines under constuction in the engine room. So come on down and say hi, have a look around, meet some new people and catch up with the ones you all ready know. The dyno will be running for those who want to check there power levels. BBQ will be running also. see you there cheers chris |

Well it was an interesting day yesterday, and great to see some of our hero cars up on the dyno (that VO 1M with that insane exhaust note & Gerry's E92 M3 along with Pete's 335i)
This is the first time I had set foot into advan, and was really impressed with the size of their facilty and how clean their workshop environment is, I would definately have no qualms about going there for any maintenance work needed on my car. I had forgotten I had packed my camera, so unfortunately everyone had mostly left by the time I took some shots! mmmmm gerry's M: After the dyno run the M had grown men giggling like school children for 5 minutes afterwards: I'm no expert, but its obvious as to why you pay a premium for an M by looking at how linear that dyno curve is! Quite a few of our 335i's on the dyno had a few issues but I must admit I was pretty damn happy with my result. Pete wacked his car up to check to see if it was the dyno. After sitting idle in the workshop for months it pulled like a freight train and the power didnt drop off like quite a few other 335i's on the day suffered from (testament to Pete's tuning!) Some random pics taken: All in all a great day, and thanks for the guys at advan for holding this day, I shall definitely attend the next dyno day |

was great to meet everyone that attended!!
Great event and shout out to Pete for hosting the BBQ for us there!! Looks like Pete put out 3kw's more than me, but the curve looks alot more linear. |

DR-JEKL: So roughly, between stock car and ecu and stock car with FBO except catback is around 20kw, correct? I'm just using yesterday's dyno sheet for comparison.
Peter might want to chime in to explain why his power curve is so much flatter than others? My car is suffering the same fate with crap power curve

My car is a manual which sometimes yields higher results, another 335i with just a procede and AT was ~ the 210kw mark by memory. |

After the last dyno day when I had the wheels on, I managed to rip the sidewall on one of the tyres. I had a nail in it and drove about 2k on it when flat. The monitor did not go off and it did not feel too bad so it caught me out. I am now deciding whether to repaint the wheels (I don't like matt black) or try to sell them and get something different. I got a better number on the dyno with the stock wheels though. (242kw) See you next time. |
