I've never seen one of those either so I googled it and it seems to be a green lynx spider:

apparently you don't want to be bitten by one.

We have Brown Recluse spiders here and I won't gross everyone out with a pic of what they do to your skin if bitten. Cal spiders are much prettier.

Only about as big as a quarter.

It is the Green Lynx. Predom in Mexico.

Has a mouth that looks like it could eat a chicken wing.

My wife was bitten by a Brown Recluse on the back of her calf, down by the ankle. Seemed ok at first, no biggie, actually didn't even know it was a spider bite, seemed like a mosquito bite. A couple days later she was on massive antibiotics with a patch of bad-news heading toward gangrene (sp).

To the OP, if I had spiders like that in my house, I would f'g move!

There are some pretty bad bugs and spiders in SoCal.... Black widows absolutely everywhere, and I remember the first time a tarantula hawk wandered up to me while I was working on my car. I had no idea what it was and felt like I might be dead at any moment. It's scary. I felt like screaming like a little girl.

If I ever manage to build my private race track in arizona, (very hopeful wish XD), the rest building is going to be ONE piece cement, so no gaps in which spiders like that can get through. Windows/doors will be checked and rechecked for any gaps.

hate....spiders......so......much.....freaks.....o f.......nature.......

8 eyes? who needs 8 eyes? I mean, common.

spider eating bats FTW

We had a lot of those when I lived in southern Missouri. They are no joke. Had one of them rush my face when we were clearing out our old wood shed and narrowly dodged to have it leap over my head One of our guys got bit and had his arm swell up 10x its normal size, turning some nasty colors and had to stay on antibiotics with his arm above his head for over a week. No thanks.

...Copperheads were everywhere there too.

forget what your skin looks like if bitten, if not treated, you can die from a bronw recluse slowly because your flesh will deteriorate very fast once it gets going.
