any advice from others in Temple/Belton area on where to find a reliable place to get tires mounted? Would prefer to not have my wheels scratched all to hell by some scrub with a tire machine...

I can't speak for ALL stores, but the Discount Tire place in NW San Antonio is exceptionally good. They're very careful with all alloy wheels and if they happen to nick an edge, they'll get it touched up at no cost. I had similar luck with a Discount Tire in Round Rock. Best thing to do is talk to the store manager/lead tire tech and make sure they have the right equipment and that their techs are properly trained - or insure that their best guy works on your wheels/tires.

yeah i used to use discount in The Colony before i moved back to Temple.. Just not positive this one is as good. That's prlly what I'll end up doing though lol - thanks for your input!

No problem. I think we all share the same concerns when doing wheel/tire stuff. I make it a point to watch what they're doing and inspect the finished product before driving off. This Discount Tire I use has a really great manager and I was duly impressed!

I took my works S1r to the Killeen Discount tire and had the manager mount the tires and had no problems. The same thing can be said on the Harker Heights, Discount tires.

I have used the discount tire in temple but that was for my yukon. they didnt scratch the wheels... havent used them for the bmw thou

Back in August, the DAY B4 A bunch of us where suppose to meet in Houston for the Houston M Meet @MSR-H i found my inner tires were gone

I had no time to order my trusty Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta in 295-30-19 so i called around and the Discount tire of Temple had one last set of Tires in my requested size.

$500 tires i got for 50% off due to them being discontinued so i rolled up there in my wife's X5 and had them change out the Tires on my Triple chrome 19" MRR GT-1s and they were great. no issues, as a matter of fact the young guys were pretty intrigued to see the HPF M3 one day.

I can't remember the exact model of tire i ended up with but they didn't perform like my Vred's do but in any case, my point is that the discount tire @ temple took good care of me and that was my 1st time there!

thanks for posts again. I ended up going to discount in Temple and was treated right. Ended up only getting my rears put on since one of the fronts ended up having a cracked bead (grrr) so now I need to buy another potenza... anyone got any 225/40/r18 potenzas for sale?
