Smile $1000 over invoice, plus my opinion on space gray vs. sparkling graphite

Took the plunge today!

I put my deposit down on a special order for March Delivery. I will finalize order in January but here is what I have:

2007 335i Coupe
Space Gray Metallic A52
Coral Red Leather LCD1
Aluminum Trim 4AD
Sports Package ZSP
Navigation 609
Cold Weather Package ZCP
Park Distance Control 507

After reading posts about the purple/pink hue in Sparkling Graphite I was a bit skeptical. I still think Sparkling Graphite is a beautiful color, but even today, which was cloudy, I could see the purple/pink. Plus I see so many sparkling graphite e90 on the road today.

Two cars down was Space Gray, and even though it was a bit dirty and it was cloudy today, I loved it. Definitely a gray/silver combination as opposed to Sparkling Graphite which is more gray/black in my opinion.

No hate against Sparkling Graphite, and Montego is striking in person, but I loved Space Gray and am not looking back.

Coral red is not nearly as bright in person as you see in pictures online. Very sporty, unique and European.

My experience with my CA and the dealership was very pleasant, I got an offer sheet for $1000 over factory invoice in writing, signed off by management. If anyone is interested in a similar deal send me a PM as I am sure my CA will welcome incremental business!

Thanks for reading!

I really think you should consider going with popular grain grey wood trim with the coral red interior. IMO It looks much better than the aluminium with the red. Having seen both of them in person the grey wood is a much better fit.

Otherwise great choices for options.

43,175 - about $250 more than what I calculated, but I am not going to worry about that small difference

Yes, I would be interested in that too as I have seen some dealerships quote a number as the "invoice price" when in fact it wasn't. I'm not saying this is/was the case here, but never hurts to double-check.

I was torn between Space Gray and Sparkling Graphite - I went with the Graphite, then later changed my mind to Space Gray but the factory had already started building my car, and it was too late to change. Rather than lose my production slot, I stuck with Graphite. It is much darker and somehow "moodier" than the Gray, and there is a hint of bluey-purple that comes out under artificial light, but I still think it looks good.

I think you can't go wrong with Space Gray though - it suits the E92 very well, looks modern, and is exclusive to the coupe (at least for now).

I feel sorry for you guys in the US having to wait 4 months for your new cars, perhaps I was lucky but I got mine in just under a month - the dealer had a production slot allocated and changed the spec to suit my order. I didn't get much of a discount though - they knew they could easily sell the car if I didn't take it.

Why arent you worried about the $250 difference? Seems like you should get a breakdown of the costs from your CA to figure out where that 250 came from.

So you got the cat for 44,175 and factory invoice is 42,925. Therefore you paid 1250 over factory invoice. not a bad deal.
