Missing heat shield ?

guys can you tell me if this e92 335 is missing a heat shield under the hood ? I looked at it at the dealer the other day, and noticed a e93 328 had a black plastic heat shield on the underside of the hood, but i did not see it on the 335

yes, the pic doesnt really show it, but i think the shield (if it was there) goes all the way back to the end of the hood .....

I've heard they dropped the shield a year ago. My '08 has one but a new 335 at the dealer didn't.

The underhood quilt is no longer installed (cost cutting?) at least on the 3 series.
Picked up a March built 328xi, no quilt. Others have bought one & installed it, so I did the same.
Cannot say if it makes a difference or not, but if you install one, do not forget to order the clips that holds it in place.

I have a 2011 335i xDrive, no heat shield. The problem with not having one is that even if the car has been sitting a few hours before you decide to give it a wash, the hood is way too hot, and the water dries right away and leaves spots/streaks. I guess I'll have to buy one, with gritted teeth, because it should have been included in the first place.
