Trying to work out the best way to improve the engine / exhaust note on a 325d, is there anything particular that can be done when building a custom exhaust?
I've left a 4.2 V8 in favour of 45mpg and love the car but am quickly missing my last car's sound.
Cheers

Try getting an intake. It wont help with the exhaust but it will nearly sound like a v8 (:

On this, Are there cold intakes available for a 325diesel? I'm still learning how diesel engines tick but I thought there wouldn't be any more benefit from CAI on a turbo diesel than the stock air filter and the turbo's intercooler?

Performance aside though I guess it would affect the engine sound?

No exhaust restrictions. For example the muffler removed and replaced with piping would be an axle-back straight pipe
