About a month ago I used Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant instead of wax. I've heard it can last for several months. My question is, do I have to apply it after every wash, or does it stick around even after washing?

Is there a particular kind of wash fluid I should use to ensure the sealant isn't removed? I use some generic washing fluid made by Mothers and the water was still beading off pretty well after the wash. I also have a Meguiars wash/wax fluid but I don't use it as often.

Should last you several months but you'll know once the water stops beading/sheeting off.

Just use car soap and you won't have to worry about it stripping it off.

look into a type of wash medium that does not contain any citrus or too heavy of cleaning power, just a lot of lubricity and encapsulation power so you can wipe off all the dirt without harming the sealant and paint.

with that said... look into garry dean wash method as well as his awesome line of products - infinite use detail juice (a lot of uses for just one solution) and the juice boost (sealant)

if you like traditional wash method instead of a waterless or rinseless, he has "the perfect soap" a new concoction in his new product line.

The sealant durability will depend on a number of factors. In perfect conditions it can last as much as a year. In crappy conditions, maybe a couple months. I sealed my dad's A6 avant in it and it lasted close to 10 months but it lives in a heated garage when hes not driving it or taking it on a roadtrip.

For soaps, try to find a gentle soap and don't use a ton of it when washing. 1-1.5oz is plenty for a 5-gallon bucket!

I just used ONR last week (been using it for 3 years now). I've been going back and forth between that and car soap lately though.

sealant with weekly washes will last about 2-3 months at best. I do mine once a month, since it takes about 30 min with a porter cable D/A

I use a lot less of iudj than ONR and depends on how much more lubricity i want with the specifica car i'm washing. the ONR to me at .5oz for 3 gallons is a lot less slick than .5 oz for 3 gallons of iudj. ONR lubricity stays pretty consistent so when youre adding more you're losing money since its the same slickness.. iudj gets more slick the more you use.

and with iudj, you have a couple more uses than onr. you can use iudj as a tire dressing and trim "restorer". you also get a sealant type protection from the iudj where as you dont with the ONR unless you are using the ONR wash and wax, but thats also just a "wax" that wont last long.

the way i see it is, ONR is so cheap because of all the advertisement they do and the level of concentration.

Garry's product isn't industrial production so thats part of the cost and its double the concentration. onr says use 1oz for 2 gallons. iudj is 1oz to 4 gallons of water when used as a rinseless wash. - 2.5oz to 1 gallon of distilled water for water softener, tire dressing, interior/exterior, leather, plastic, and UV protectant and dressing.

and the juice boost is like opti-seal - a spray on or mix with iudj for sealant use.

initially you might see the cost of the gallon size of the solutions and say WTF im not buying that.. but if you break it down to the cost per oz. you're using less than 2 dollars and should be when you're using the GDWM.

Sealants should last about 2-3 months if not more depending conditions like mentioned above. I live in South Florida and I applied Wolfgang Deep Gloss 3.0 Sealant on several cars and it usually lasts about 3 months or so and these vehicles are not garage kept. My personal favorite soap that I use is the Meguiar's Gold Class and it works well and helps preserve wax/sealant on paint.

it will stick around for many washes but the more coats the better. i've applied BFWD to my truck 4 times in the last 8 months and it has never seemed to lack a layer of protection when doing the water test. wife's bmw gets a little less attention but probably 1 coat of glaze, 2 coats of BFWD, and 1 coat of Poorboy's paste wax in the last year.
