All season vs Summer? Help

I cant decide honestly.

I need tires for my 19's

That being said I dont want to lose too much performace in my tires by going to an A/S. At the same time I dont want to have to buy a second set of tires.

I live in NC but drive to Pa 3-4 times a year and Va a couple, all in the winter.

My main concern is how much handling , response and wet performace I will lose from a summer to an all season. I drive in a very spirited manner, but will never track the car.

Thanks

Im looking at the potenza 960, as an A/s tire. It seems to be the best choice?

Even the best A/S tires will still be a noticeable step down in dry grip, cornering and steering response from the best summer performance tires. That being said, many have been very happy with the large difference in ride quality and wear by going to a top choice like the RE960 A/S.

I noticed on tirerack.com that you guys have 225x40x18's but no 255x35x18's. Do your customers end up going with a 265x35x18's in the rear on the stock staggered setup?

That's what I'm assuming as well. It is outside the recommended rim width range of 9-10.5" (your OE rear wheels are just 8.5" wide), but they must have done so anyway.

Read up on the Falken Ziex 912. I have them on my car and they are pretty good A/S tires for the money.
