Back on post 29 it appeared he already had this working? Or were you referring to something else?

The MPF flasher device is not available yet, which will allows you to reflash the ecu at home. With the current spider boot setup, you still have to go to his shop to reflash but he doesn't have to take the ecu out and bench flash it, its done through the obd port.

Just arrived at JR Auto. I've been told that the tune and Spider Boot is a 3 hour job.

We shall see.

Some cool features about the Spider Boot. Jarek said that the dealer can't detect SBoot because it needs a certain command to be "awoken." It lies in a sleep state otherwise.

He said he can also remotely tune or tweak our cars with the MPF in the future. Basically, we'd allow him access to our DDE over the cloud and boom...done.

That would be part of the "MPF" features that he said is about a month away.

That's a cool feature. Probably going to become more and more common.
This is hopefully the start of a tuning norm- finally- and maybe other vendors will get on board and bring some competition to the table. The COBB tune for the 335i was so convenient, it was a no brainer... Except it was about 50% more than the JB4 with 7 maps at the flick of a switch. Pick your poison kinda thing.

I wonder if we could piggyback this tune with the jb4 and meth... And lightweight drag radials... Wowza. 11's would be easily achievable.

Is it only the 2011 335d that can not be flashed through the obd, I read the 09-10 can be flashed via the obd2, also vivid racing in AZ has tuned a couple D's and they have a custom tune for $900, they say they can flash the 09-10 but not the 11 they need to get into the ecu...

To DieselRacer - All US spec E90 335D and E70 X5 2009 and up are equipped with Bosch EDC17 CP09 Tricore TP ECU. It is impossible to read\write such as ECU by OBD2 port.
If Vivid Racing claim that they tuned 2009-2010 35D in AZ it seems that they did not tuned at all any of US spec 35d
It is possible only for European EU cars with EDC16 ECU. Just read their description on Vivid Racing webiste:
"NOTE: The 2006-2010 Bosch EDC16 can be flashed via OBDII with our Tuning Kit or the Powergate. The 2011 uses the Bosch EDC17 and must be bench flashed."

Best Regards

Jarek

They never seen any 35D US spec , unless they imported a few from EU with EDC16 they just have copied wrong information from European website.

Hello all, I have a question... I am wondering if any of you, who have had the tune, DFP and SCR delete done had to put your cars through a drive clean test here in Toronto? If so, did you pass or??!?!?! I am considering getting all this done but my 2011 BMW 335d starts participating in the drive clean tests next March 2018... any help would be appreciated.

I actually did over email and he could not give me a straight answer. Just told me that the tune was for race purposes. I will be visiting his shop in the near future.

I don't think anyone will give you a straight answer in writing.
