tbh I am not too sure. I know my cobb was originally set for 18 psi on stage 2+, could be just boost spike? but thats what I logged when I did a few runs with the car after it's protune.

Are you running this setup daily. I dont know if someone can chime in but 20 psi on 93 oct and stock turbo seems unsafe to me. If its safe then im buying a cobb and getting a protune asap ! I bet 20 psi makes the car a bullet train !

definitely a boost spike. Same thing used to happen when i ran a cobb on different protuned maps. Mine would spike all the way to 21.7 (which is as high as the stock tmap sensor can read) but anything above ~ 17psi on the stock turbo is useless because it is way out of its efficiency range.

Found it. It is 18 psi set but I have been hitting 19-20 on the stock map, this could be due to the weather. I know on the race map I did see it go up to 20.9.

BrenTuning can you chime in? I know your maps are more towards the conservative side than raw power.

One day! I don't go too often but we can go to the NE Drag with the New England Group. What numbers are you putting up? Last time I went was with just the cobb stage 2 + and my numbers weren't good at all.

on pump gas, I never saw any benefit over ~17 and that was maxed out on map 5 on the jb4. On e85, 20psi in the midrange (3500-4500 rpm) felt pretty good.

Is there any cons to using E85 as oppose to race gas? I know it is much cheaper and we can only run a blend of E30 max?

Oh yeah man you are Jario's friend right? you guys got some nice times. Esp with no downpipe! It was so packed that day...

No e85 near me. I can get 100 octane in the town over though. My experience with 5g of 100 octane was pretty amazing but can't afford that life style. 9$ per gallon...

My bad haha I only remember Jario's name because he posted on the Drag Strip post in the sub forum prior and added me on instagram after. Haha I would be down!

I don't use it for daily, too expensive just saving it for next track day. Very nice, I only got the protune w/ dyno and race map since then. Next few things will be suspension and cosmetics.

@houtan has one of the fastest n55 stock turbo 135i's out there. There's actually a video of him and I racing 30-40mph start up to the limiter in the 1/2 mile. He is stock turbo FBO jb4/BEF combo with a custom map6 E50mix. I was FBO besides(stock FMIC) in this video too on 18psi with PS2,spraying meth CM10 to keep IAT's cool & e50 mix as well.

They created a separate map for me and when I am running 75% 93 and 25% 100 octane, I get 492 wtq @ 2,700 rpm.
I think I may keep it man, if your in the Boston area sometime swing by you can drive my car, I also converted everything in the rear to M3 bits for suspension except the sway bar (m3 rear subframe bushings / m3 rear control arms). Lowered on KW V1's as well. Ride is much firmer but I wish I did the sway bar, I didn't want to wait the week from the dealer to get it so I finished the install instead.

May get the Pure Stage 2 kit with all the upgrades they offer as well as replacing the water pump, thermostat, N20 MAP Sensor,6 coils / 6 spark plugs(for the 3rd time with 50k on it) and maybe fork up for the rear m3 sway bar.

Let me get the list of all the things you are getting along with the pure?

I plan to buy the rear sway kit from ECS Tuning, messaged a rep on the website and they modified the kit for me.(I wanted the smaller sway bar not the e93 23.6mm one)

Sounds like a plan man! you car must ride like rails.

Should I fork up an extra 3-4k for a Stage 2 turbo from Pure, or just part out and sell it after the winter. My car is currently pushing 356whp / 441wtq Protuned by Brentuning.

Mods:
Cobb AP
VRSF DP
VRSF FMIC
BMS CP
BMS CAI
Eisenmann Race Exhaust w/ cutout valve
Removed Secondary Resonators
Alpina TCU Flash

If I was to keep it I would probably do the turbo & MAYBE the HFS-4 meth kit. I've done much more to this car than just performance such as mods to the exterior / interior / rims / coilovers / escort 9500ci radar; the list goes on & on.

Would a stage 2 FBO N55 beat a JB4 tuned M3? Just want some input for my options down the road, any help would be appreciated.
Get Pure Stage 2 and later meth, if you like. First, your car is relatively low mileage. Second, you won't begin to recover the cost of all the mods when you sell the car. Why throw all those mods away? Third, you will start modding any new car you get, just admit it now.

One of my friends in Canada has an 08 335ixi and he has over 60,000 miles (100,000 km) and still loves the car. He has money and had shopped around but decided to keep the car as he is still having a blast driving it.

Of course I get the typical bs forum response when I call the f8x trash....I think it's trash because it sounds like absolute shit (even with a 5-7k exhaust) IMO it looks like shit at most angles, I was not impressed with the drive on the M4, and if I wanted a 6 series sized car labeled as a 3/4 series I would would just shell out for a 6.

Lastly the single worst thing about the car is the fact that it's basically a hopped up 3/4 series going for 75-100k. Absolute max for m3/4 should be 65k. They are killing their own enthusiast market with bs like this. But people are willing to pay for individual colors, all these bs packages and so on.

Nobody on here owns, you all lease/mod/dump/repeat these days. So that's my view on why it's trash, it's just an opinion and my rant for the day.
