WARNING: vendor ModMy3 awful experience

Wall of text below....

Just thought I would share my experience with this vendor and see if anyone else has had similar troubles. My transaction can be summed up as follows, and after a month and a half since order placement I have STILL not received half my order.

I shopped around for interior & exterior lighting kits for quite a while before deciding; I'm quite anal about finding the best deal. While shopping I hadn't seen any bad reviews of ModMy3, and they are all over this site with decent pricing, so they earned my sales on the following items;

Full interior lighting kit
Side markers
Reverse lights
Turn signals
Black kidney grills
6 resistors

As for angel eyes and low-beam xenons, I went with Sonic Tuning, as I was really looking for MTech bulbs and couldn't verify the brand of ModMy3's AEs.

After placing the order with ModMy3 for the above items (~200 total), I got an email from Marie stating that I only ordered 1 ea of the turn signals, reverse lights, and side markers. Evidently they are sold individually, no problem, here's another $42 via PayPal (paid same day). Had I realized this, Sonic Tuning would have gotten my entire order as their pricing was then much better, but we'll get back to that point.

I received tracking of the AEs and low-beams that I ordered from Sonic Tuning same day. I also got notice from ModMy3 that I would not receive tracking for 2 days, as apparently this is their normal lead time. Cool.

After expressing my disappointment with a 2 day lead time, ModMy3 shipped my (partial) order the following day, so thanks for that. However, they did NOT ship the entire order, and the interior LED kit was apparently sent in a separate shipment. I say apparently because it still has not been received.

Before that weekend and my 3-week trip to Switzerland, I received my AEs and low beams from Sonic. Easily installed them before leaving, but the grilles, resistors, turn signals, side markers, and reverse lights from ModMy3 came too late to install. Could be worse, they could have not been shipped at all, right?? </sarcasm>

So here I am, 2 weeks after my trip to Switzerland, two unanswered emails to ModMy3 asking for explanation, and amidst a PayPal dispute STILL having not received my interior LED kit. This was not even the lights which I had to follow up with secondary payment. Just a completely botched order and a SEVERELY dissatisfied first-time customer.

I do not understand how vendors can be so callous to customers when their market is on a public forum. I normally lurk E90post; reading and researching these great forums, but in this case I WILL make my voice heard about this to warn my fellow bimmer modders. Use this vendor with caution, and unless you're getting MUCH better pricing and willing to risk the above scenario, I would suggest ordering with Sonic Tuning or another vendor. Just my two cents.

Thanks for reading, and by the way, this is not an April Fools joke

Sonic Tuning is the only vendor I'll go to. No BS and great pricing as usual and best of all is they're here to answer any questions.

I bought their aluminum extended DCT paddles - got tracking the same day and had them within 3 days

So my experience with them was fine...

As was mine. And Marie was extremely communicative, we chatted back and forth about 5 or 6 times the night I was getting ready to make my purchase. I'm surprised to hear this about them.

I had a very similar experience. Ordered Piano black grills and took 2 weeks to get them...they took a whole week to process my order and I was assuming that I would've gotten them a lot sooner as they are a local shop. BUT Marie was communicative and explained what the hold up was. Can't exactly say that I wont order from them again, I'll just remember to look else where if there is similarity in price.

OP, I just emailed you again regarding this. I've replied to all of your emails and answered all of your questions, despite not being at work much due to a recent neck/back injury and having to go back and forth between my doctor, another office for an MRI and my Chiropractor. I'm sorry if you didn't receive the replies! We sent your LED kit before you left and it wasn't delivered. We had to re send it and you should have your tracking info now. Just let us know if we need to re send that as well. We apologize for the confusion/miscommunication.

I have bought multiple items from them: piano black kidney grill, white angel eyes, and m3 bumper. Never had an issue, and had The best customer service with Marie! They always ship their items FAST and always answer any questions, no BS. I HIGHLY recommend them...and I am not the type of person that just recommends anyone either!

bad experience with them from me too. caught them in a "white" lie.

After several days and my tracking # showing no update, I emailed to ask what happened. I was told that "the shipper lost the package" and that modmy3 would send it out again at their expense.

Yet when I asked for the new tracking #, I got no reply, and the original tracking # suddenly showed the package en route. I know tracking #s are not reusable.

Modmy3 lied about the shipper losing the package so that they would not have to accept responsibility that they simply failed to ship until I asked them about it. Have not been back since. and won't go back.

Damn! m0dbargains has a bad rap too?! Im a new e90 owner as of January, and was thinking about ordering my LCI M-tech front bumper from them because it seems to be the best price, and comes with all the fog lights and "necessary hardware/parts".. I am still trying to figure out what the "necessary hardware/parts" consists of though. BTW...does anyone know what that means? Thanks!!

I also had a "not so good" experience with modmy3. Bought matte black grilles for my E90 pre-lci. After 7-8 days I ask them if they shipped my package and what was going on. I got told the same thing that the carrier lost or damaged my original package so they had to send a new one. I finally got the package a few days later to realize that they didnt ship the right color. I got piano black instead of matte black..

I have to say, my "not so good" experience has been that they're shipping absolutely blows.

I waited 1 month for my turn signals to come in from them, and they claimed it was because of them moving around things in their warehouse. If thats the case, put a disclaimer in the order form. If I wanted my signals 1 month after order, I'd just wait to order later rather than not have the money, or the product for that time.

Only thing that lead me to get the signals from them in the first place, was that the shipping on the blacklines was reasonable. 1.5 weeks.

Thumbs down

I can add my current experience... Ordered a fog light HID kit on April 10th. Got an order confirmation quickly. Waited and waited for a shipping notification. Emailed with no response. Sent a PM on here and then got an email response that shipping confirmations usually take 2-3 business days. April 15th I get a shipping confirmation with a tracking #. However, if I track the package it just says that the electronic shipping notice has been sent to the shipper...This just means a label has been generated but the package has not physically shipped. So here we are on April 21 and my package still has not been received by the shipper. So irritated. Had I wanted to wait this long, I would have bought a kit from China on ebay. So far this vendor gets a big fat "F" for service.

Cliffs: Same story as others... The vendor sucks at shipping and still waiting for my HIDs to sent....11 days later.
