I figure it's time I showed SGM on oyster to add to the SGM fun.
My car has flat one color interior, how do I change it to dual tone color?

Normal BMW Msport bumpers although I did the conversion with reps.

I was in the same boat. I count myself as lucky as I only spent about a month searching, but the wife and I were scouring BMW dealer sites, forums, eBay and Autotrader daily. We ended up driving almost 500 miles to get the one I wanted and it has proven itself a rewarding decision.

I was pretty open minded about color but Graphite Gray was my first choice. Alpine white and LeMans Blue were tied for second with Space Gray resting comfortably as my third favorite. More than anything, the car had to be manual with Coral Red leather and the Sport Package.

I ended up with a Space Gray M-Sport with a manual gearbox, Coral Red interior that was a year newer than I was initially looking for and 20,000mi younger than the others I had seen closer to home. It is a great car that DOES hide dirt well. It manages to look good dirty but looks stellar when clean and polished).

Here is mine, shortly after leaving the dealership:

...and after 500-odd miles, she's home:

The black interior doesn't pop with Space Gray as well as one might like but it is still a great combo. Make the most of the color by keeping the wheels and other brightwork clean as well as keeping the OEM colored roundels. Too much 'blacking out' of the car can wash it out and the roundels add a nice spark of color without being too ostentatious. I plan on getting the BMW Performance 'gloss black' kidneys since my car has the 'Shadowline' trim, but everything else will stay as they are. Also, the interior can be dressed up nicely with a lighter wood or the aluminum trim if you'd like a touch of contrast. I'm a sucker for the darker Poplar or Piano Black trims, but the aluminum finish really draws positive attention if that is what you're after.

Yours has tinted windows right? That will be my first "mod". It enhances the car's looks. I gotta look into what percentage I am allowed to tint.

OK end of thread, thanks guys! I am glad I joined the "Space Grey Club".

Yea, it is nice -- I like it because of the blistering sun Florida sees oh-so-often.

Just be sure to get the Moleskin protectors installed first; my tint is all scratched up because the previous owner overlooked them.

I have no idea what the moleskin protectors are so thanks for the tip and the link! Does the detail/tint shop installs those too? I will do a search. I don't want to be off topic. Thanks again!

Oh believe me I looked for a couple of months and found a couple of black and a blue 335 that I wanted, but the price was NOT right (and some of the options). Way too high and dealers/stealers did not come down much. They ended up selling quickly though, so I could see why they weren't budging. Then all of a sudden 3 Space Grey 335's appeared in 3 different dealerships in my area (within 50mi.) within 2-3 days of each other. That gave me leverage and was able to negotiate pretty well with all 3 of them who were willing to drop the price when I mentioned that 2 others had the same SG 335. I went with the one with the lowest mileage and the lowest price, which drove better, and happened to have the highest sticker price (>$55K) and the best wheels (can't forget the wheels, hehe). So I did not get the (high priced) color I wanted, but I have $4K more in the bank, and I don't regret getting the SG color at all. I think it looks great. For some reason around me black, silver and white E90/92's are a dime a dozen. The reason I wanted black was because I would see 1 or 2 every day among white and silver ones a few blocks from my house or before getting on the highway on my to work. I have only seen 1 SG (e90) in the last 3-4 months in my town and surrounding areas, and it was an E90. So I think my E92 335 is very unique in my area. So no regrets at all, but good for you. If I had another 2-3 months I may have found what I was looking for at the price I wanted after a big snow storm in February (when they sell the least cars up here in the Northeast). That's when I usually buy all my new cars and get the best price.

Only thing though... next to me at the stop light yesterday was was a brand new black 650 (Coupe with temp. registration) and that blew me away. I didn't know what to control first.. the fluids coming out of my mouth or the ones below.. hehehe That was a totally different class car with amazing looks (and 20" wheels I think). Made me and my 335 feel pretty small Yes, there will always be somone else with a nicer car, so we get what we can and be happy about it.

I think the new 6-series coupe/gran coupe are the third best looking cars BMW ever made behind the e30 and e46M3. Simply gorgeous lines.

I have always liked space grey.

Has your wife seen these 2 colors - these are the ones I don't love on the car - the grey is one of the top 3 colors in my book!

I can see why it wouldn't be someone's favorite color, but I can't see how someone would actually dislike it.

I prefer Alpine White but it still looks good.
