Audi R8
im really liking the look and sound of one of these. And now they are under 60k.
seeing as helen bought a 997 turbo before me i was just wondering if its a good trade up from the M6. i know itll be slower in the starights, but by all accounts the R8 really peddles well and loves the twisties?? Thoughts please gentlemen and helen........and carl......and will

Love 'em!
I think they have a LOT of road prescence - you literally spot em from miles away lol! Would be an awesome upgrade and a great deal of fun! |

i think Steve did ok and it already lost a shed load of money. no performance upgrade but they are very good looking cars. saw a black R8 the other day and looked perfect, shmae theyre not as quick as the M6. id say go for it oh, what a situation to be in....keep the M6 or get an R8

Very different cars, but personally think you'll miss the power too much.

YES!! For gods sake YES!!! Get rid of the barge and get into something that at least looks attractive!! Yes it'll be slower than the M6 but not by a huge amount and the handling will definitely be an improvement. I wouldnt think twice about it. That said the V10 is a better option but then you wont be paying under £60k. My mates just bought a white one and its awsome. Do it fat boy!!!

I'd go down the 911 route personally. Even though I do like the R8, and beleive it's fantastic to drive, but nothing shouts LOOK AT ME more than an R8. If you're happy with that aspect then you'll not smile more, but, the M6 is pretty subtle; are you shouty or not???
DB9, now there's a thought!!!

At the `ring last year Steve, there were 20 guys from OZ who`d flown to London and hired supercars from one of the rental companies to do a tour of Europe (they also hired the entire fleet of race school cars at the `ring). We spoke to them a lot over the weekend and every single one of them preffered the R8 above any of the other cars they had with them. They had an F430, Gallardo, 997TT, M6, Bentley CGT, RRS S/C, AMV8, RS4 and the R8.
Quite funny as the 997 was being driven by a young lad and had post it notes everywhere inside saying "keep right, overtake Left". |

Wonderful car, Enjoyed it thoroughly. But I personally couldnt handle the near 100bhp deficit.

I'd drop 100bhp for less weight, good handling and stunning looks. I really like the M6, I really do, but an R8 is a proper handling car, not just a super GT car. |

Yes the R8 would be fine if you wernt used to 500+bhp. Also you will soon get pissed off once the V0 is out.
I love the R8, I think it has more road presence than a 911 Turbo. But for the money surely a Porky T is the car to have? Try the R8. All journalists say its superb but leaves you wanting more in the power department.

If you could price in the supercharger kit they do for the R8 then I'm in....
Stock I genuinely think it's bland. My mates missus has one and yeah it looks ok I guess, but it DOES need more power. SJ |
