TT-RS 0-60 in 3.6sec
Audi TT-RS blasts from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds in Car and Driver test.
To put that into perspective, the LFA they tested did it in 3.7 seconds. And only 0.2 behind the ZR-1 Corvette. This thing gets up and goes! |

This has been coming up a lot.... Its a misprint... the car does 4.6, not to 60... watch Top Gear...

What amount of this incredible time is attributed to their 1ft rollout and 60mph instead of 100km/h. You see, both these things will reduce the time one would expect it to take. I know that in the UK a manual TT-RS has been timed at 4.2s to 60mph, so the 1 ft rollout + DSG + Launch Control could very well make this time of 3.6s possible.
Get over it, the TT-RS is quicker than the 1M ........ The End. |

The US will get manual only without launch control, hence they speculate that a US TTRS will do 0-60 in about 4.6 seconds or equal to the 1M it was compared to.

The 0-60 w/ rollout vs. The 5-60 times show how AWD + DSG w/ short gearing and launch control will get you quick times. The 0-60 might be 3.6s, but the 5-60 (a street start, as they call it) is 5.2s. A rolling start would see these cars having near identical runs, with the TTRS pulling a slight lead.
I don't get what's so surprising to everyone though. The GTR, 997TT, LP560, etc (even the old 959) prove that AWD will give you impressive 0-60 numbers simply because of the initial traction advantage.
