TT-RS 0-60 in 3.6sec

Audi TT-RS blasts from 0-60 in 3.6 seconds in Car and Driver test.

To put that into perspective, the LFA they tested did it in 3.7 seconds. And only 0.2 behind the ZR-1 Corvette.

This thing gets up and goes!

This is "not" a misprint. Manual tests have been slower.

This test wast done with the DSG + launch control.

No your right, it was only Fifth Gear. The TT-RS has never been in a episode of Top Gear.

What amount of this incredible time is attributed to their 1ft rollout and 60mph instead of 100km/h. You see, both these things will reduce the time one would expect it to take. I know that in the UK a manual TT-RS has been timed at 4.2s to 60mph, so the 1 ft rollout + DSG + Launch Control could very well make this time of 3.6s possible.

Get over it, the TT-RS is quicker than the 1M ........ The End.

And the major flaw in this: We are getting neither!
The US will get manual only without launch control, hence they speculate that a US TTRS will do 0-60 in about 4.6 seconds or equal to the 1M it was compared to.

0 to 60 ya.... but I think there is a big price difference... Also the 1M won the comparison test.... Im not a huge fan of the TT.... Personally I would like a M3... (With a V8)...

Oh ya it was Fifth Gear... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DTSnU3pSr8

I ain't tvrfan and the reason I mentioned the 1M is because the 3.6s time in question came from this very comparison test. The TT-RS is quicker ..... the end, just like what the RS3 will be.

Ok look I'm a guy that usually hates bmw and love Audi. But your post was ridiculous nobody mentionned anything about the 1M(That I don't like and got banned of the 1M section). Honestly do you need to post everytime you see Audi mentionned? The a4 in my name is in honor of one of my old audi, I still own a car from VAG right now but sometimes your post are uncalled for. What are you doing here

The 0-60 w/ rollout vs. The 5-60 times show how AWD + DSG w/ short gearing and launch control will get you quick times. The 0-60 might be 3.6s, but the 5-60 (a street start, as they call it) is 5.2s. A rolling start would see these cars having near identical runs, with the TTRS pulling a slight lead.

I don't get what's so surprising to everyone though. The GTR, 997TT, LP560, etc (even the old 959) prove that AWD will give you impressive 0-60 numbers simply because of the initial traction advantage.

Why did they compare them to an IPL G37? Cayman would have been a much better choice.
