Really like these. Chris Harris is quite fond of them also which is always a good endorsement!

Have said to myself that if I need more space when I change next, I'll get it's baby brother (RS4 Avant).

Estates don't get any sexier than that.

Owning one of those will never happen to me though, unless i win the lottery.

[QUOTE=Hotcoupe;14568984]Sounds good too!

Wow for a family car it's a "yes" from me, however my kids are 20's now so an M6 for me would be double thumbs.

Well, the A4 isn't that much bigger than a e91, although it is bigger.

Plus the RS4 has the wrong engine.

The RS6 for me when I win the lottery...

£90k is a bit.

And I wouldn't really call the RS4's engine "the wrong engine". It's an engine which reflects its lower price point.

90k!? wow.
I read that prices start from circa 75k, and I thought that was on the expensive side, but 90k!
If you loved Audi that much then surely you could buy an R8 and a Q7 for the same money???

hypothetically speaking of course.

You're going to compare an RS6 Avant to a Q7? Isn't that a bit like saying "why spend that much on an m5 when you could have the x5 50i?"

Similarly, the guys looking for a family tourer and you want him to consider the r8

Yeah, for those who fancy a bit of wagon love after watching the RS6 Vid, a mapped S4 kind of satisfies the urge, and at a lot less than £90k! But you'd not want Harris' one, it's a stink bag!

Looks the business, as long as the steering isn't as vague as it was in it's predecessor.

come down to the age old debate of what you use a car for. is the RS6 classed as family tourer? debatable.
its a performance car really.
would you use any of the performance that an RS6 offers with two kids in the car? probably not.

Ive a friend with an RS4 Avant, he bought it for the performance, not for the fact he has 2 dogs and a kid. They have a Toureg for that.

If you bought a Toureg/Q7/Range Rover (delete where appropriate) then you'd have enough left for an R8 or 911.

I think that looks great and I never really liked audis but I have had soft spots in the past for the rs4 avants. This looks even better. Hunkered down stance, nice flared arches and angular designs that seem softly lifted from a lambo.

I think they tick a lot of boxes for a nice all a rounder / family car. Loads of space, looks great, massive amounts of grip, engine and noise.

Running costs are obviously high but providing you could afford those its a very appealing car.

Obvious problem is this 90k list price I saw mentioned in an earlier post. That's a bit ridiculous. Starting at 76k after a quick search. So its probably 10-15k more than the new RRS which is stunningly nice inside. I'd still prefer the rs6 because of the driving characteristics.

I think you still use the performance. I use the xfr as the family car, just been up to Anglesey for 5 days, all around north west Wales, snowdonia etc. used the performance a few times, the kids love it, especially the tunnel blasts up to Anglesey. So they can make good family cars, just super expensive list price.
