Next time, if there is one, that's what we will do. At higher speeds, the LS3's are just waking up. My car seemed to hit a wall at about 110. Aerodynamics and lack of displacement would seem to be the most likely culprits. Plus, his mods - vararam intake and ported throttle body - just added insult to injury.

As was stated, we did this little run on the way to the track, where I trapped over 116 on street tires with major traction issues. Besides you, hotrod, who has gone trapped higher with this level of mods? Some have, but it's a small number.

What I've learned is to avoid this type of scenario in the future.

I really like my brother's LS3. I made the mistake of driving a buddy's Z06 and now I really want to get one. Hmmm.

The thing is I love the element of surprise. Everyone expects you to beat them when you are driving a Corvette. In the BMW you will have all these SRT8, EVO, STI, GTOs, etc challenging you that might not otherwise if you were driving a Corvette. And if they do challenge you in a Corvette, its probably because they are modded to the point where they Know they will beat you. So in the BMW it seems so stock for a 12 second street car, it is a great sleeper. It is such a mellow, civilized car, until you decide to romp on it. I still go after any Z06 I see, just to stun them around town, even if they do beat me, they might have a very hard time trying to do it.

I can believe that.....a kid is most likely not going to have the racing experience you do and the traction is really going to be the deciding factor in those races.

After 90mph, I wouldnt expect to hang with a properly driven LS3 even in your car.

again, if your running Z06's, most of the owners simply cant bring the best out of them. Look back in this thread actually, the yellow Z06 I posted couldnt hit 11's the same day that Jamie F. was hitting 10's in the same car......a serious high HP car on street tires needs the driver mod. It means everything.

if you run into a properly driven Z06 even on your race map it will leave you like you threw out an anchor, trust me. I trapped ~116mph spinning liek crazy against Jamie in his Z06......I couldnt read his tag by the end of the strip, he was literally 80-100 yards ahead of me. I still ran in the 12's though. I needed the driver mod that day.

The little chuckle he let's out at the end is a pretty good summation. That was brutal.

......damned market. It might go up a little, but the damage is already done, at least to me.

Well, it seems I'm late the the party, as usual lol. I should have known this was going to be posted HERE TOO. Boy, you're just crappin' on Adam's day all together aren't you! Seems my calculations about the speeds we reached in the Vette were a bit wrong. I listened to the vid again, and I had the loud pedal BURRIED for about 5 seconds after I shifted into 4th. We were approaching 140mph dude.

unfortunately I don't think it would be much different from a low roll. Don't get me wrong, I would love to find out for sure......but the vette is absolutely VICIOUS at low speeds. The aggressive trans gearing that the Z51 adds coupled with the low weight of the car, and the torque of the 6.2L V8 is enough to make unsuspecting victims crap their pants.

Hopefully when the car is back in my posession, I can drive up and we can do a little "testing" without Matt's big ass in the car just to find out. Don't forget, you got a wee bit of a jump on me in that vid. It's all good though!
